Hey, everyone. Just a quick drive by to let you know that TomW's Kickstarter is in its final hours. He's $190 short of his stretch goal, so if you've been meaning to check it out, now is the time to do so! Read his updates to see some of the new characters he's been coming out with - I think you'll find it as exciting as we do! [link]

Hello! You may have seen this on FB, but I'm in a rock band! I'm doing this thing called Rock Roulette, which is a fundraiser for Girls Rock NC, an awesome nonprofit that, among other things, runs a summer camp for girls and trans girls and other marginalized genders, where they foster empowerment and creativity through learning how to be in a rock band.
Through Rock Roulette, I've been sorted into a band with three other amazing women (and my hairdresser, whom I talked into being our guest drummer when our drummer dropped out). We have until March 31 to write two original songs and learn one cover, and then we and nine other bands perform in Durham (YIKES). We also are on a fundraising spree—each band is racing to see how much money they can raise for GRNC, and the winning band gets time in a recording studio!
Our band name is Alpaca Dreams*, and I'd love it if we blew the other bands out of the water with the power of the Buffistas! BONUS: If you donate, you get swag (self-financed, so 100% of your donation goes to GRNC). My neighbor Anny designed us a killer logo, and my friend's seven-year-old daughter drew us a secondary logo, both of which are featured prominently on the swag. Our fundraising page is here. Thank you all!!!
Just donated, amyth! I love the name Alpaca Dreams SO much...and am happy to support girls rockin'.
Now, about my last ditch pitch.
Today is the last day for voting in the Washington City Paper "Best of" poll.
I'm feeling a little sick as I tried to be all fancy by boosting a facebook post which somehow ended up sorted to THE PHILIPPINES. Seriously. No idea how that happened.
Anyhoo. I would be so grateful if you have not voted, and would be willing to help me improve my google ranking...it is super fast, easy and spam-free.
The front page is here.
At the bottom, please click on People & Places
Then, scroll down to Best Life Coach, and type in Bonny King-Taylor
The system will ask that you log in with a social account and, I swear, they have never reused that info in the 5 years I've been doing this.
Please, please, please help. This designation is a powerful tool for me.
Many, many thanks!
Hey, I need to change my address in The List. Whoever has access, if you want to email me at profile addy, I'll send you the changes.
Thanks!
Also a thing I should do. Thanks for the reminder!
Oh, heck, me too.
Brenda found a notice on Facebook that Frank Dumais, our Frankenbuddha, had died.
We're seeking more information and corroboration.
ETA: It has been confirmed. They think he threw a blood clot and felt no pain.
Goodbye, Friend.
I have been missing from the board for a bit. My mom had the flu, which was too much for her body to handle along with the cancer. She died, peacefully, as I sat on one side and her 91 year old sister sat on the other. My whole family has been wonderful, but I was happy to get home an hour ago. Back in two weeks for the service.
Any health~ma for my dad would be appreciated. We checked him into the hospital for pneumonia in both lungs yesterday, and so far they haven't hit on the right antibiotics to get any traction against the infection.
Please send all the prayers and vibes you can spare towards Seattle. My cousin has just been taken in for emergency surgery for a brain tumor. She lost her job, so has either no insurance or minimal, and is looking at a long, hard recovery.
