Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Daniel's mom Mary is in ICU for high blood pressure that caused some bleeding on the brain. ~ma, please.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Update on Buffista Mom Mary: She had a small stroke, but is recovering. She was transferred to a short-term stay facility last week. I spoke to Mom today, She is in good spirits and is able to get around with a walker a bit. They had thought she wasn't ambulatory. She surprised them.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm in the ER because of heavy bleeding for a week. I'll probably be admitted and getting a blood transfusion. Hemoglobin 7.5, if you're into stats! I could use some of that fine Buffista health~ma.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

My mom is having surgery tomorrow morning (4-ish board time; 7 a.m. Eastern time) to repair an aortic aneurysm and replace a heart valve. She's ridiculously, robustly healthy for a 70-year-old woman (she's pissed that the 12-week recovery period means that she won't be able to [1] teach yoga several times a day, [2] camp, and [3] hike), so she should do just fine. But it's still scary to have a parent get cracked open and her heart tinkered with.

So any good heart-ma for my mom would be very welcome.

Surgery is all done -- mom did very well! She won't be in the ICU for 60-90 minutes, and even then she'll be asleep. But everything is good! Thanks for the heart-ma!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Well, kiddoes, it is on. The divorce went final at the end of last month. The SO's move date coincided with the day I got the paperwork back. He is now back in Indianapolis, touring full time and doing landscaping to fill in between dates (so if you know folks needing green help, send em his way!) After a couple of false starts I am now underway to Nashville where I'll be interning with a music publisher, and working remotely for a music industry networking organization, plus some side hustle. Well, it's all side hustle, really, because I'm there chasing the songwriting dream after all these years of fucking jawing about it, I'm finally doing it,

Oh, and also, the publisher's wife is a realtor, so they are renting me a little two bedroom house! What that means to you is, I will have a guest room! So come visit me because I will be freaking out over solo living for the first time in my life. But, you know, not yet, because I'm not actually there yet, it'll take me three days driving, plus I have no furniture other than my mother in law's rocking chair and an exercise ball. But soon! (In practical terms I won't actually be there for realsies until June 23rd because I'm playing a few more gigs with my Arizona band and coming back to close on the house,) But after that! Come hang out!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hey, all. Haven't been around a lot, but could use some -ma I don't want to share on FB.

D's stepmother died in April, and his father adored her deeply. Crazy in love after all these years. He's been a heavy social drinker for years, but has been drunk since J died.

And he's actively suicidal. They took him to the ER for suicidal ideation and he was admitted for a 4 day detox. They released him yesterday and last night he had a grand mal seizure. Had another one at the ER, and actually flatlined. He doesn't know what year it is now, his kids names, etc. He has no desire to get sober or to live at all.

D lost his stepdad two years ago, his stepmom in April and now, his dad's situation is very perilous, so any good thoughts would be very appreciated.

Thanks, all.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

If anybody in the Boston area has a mobility scooter or power chair that they're not using, a friend of mine is looking into getting one but insurance won't cover it. If you've got one, and you'd be willing to sell it for relatively cheap, please let me know! Profile address is good.

If anyone would like to give a good home to my first gen Kindle Paperwhite, which is about five years old and works fine, though slow to download, I'm happy to offer it for the cost of shipping. I finally decided to upgrade to the latest.

UODATE: The Kindle has been claimed.
