A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Copied from FB, because I am so. damned. tired. I will catch up on ita's information from the last couple of days a little later today, but we just got home from 4 days in Iowa.

------------------

My father-in-law's memorial yesterday was lovely; well over 200 people came from 1-5 pm. Dan and I are both utterly exhausted but so, so appreciative of all the kind words proffered us by so many people.

It was a grueling last week for both of us...I'm so mentally exhausted and I got so sick on the drive up to IA Thursday, and still feel punky -- I don't know how to say how grateful I am for the support of family, both mine and Dan's, and of friends near and far.

Thank you all so much. You are loved.

(Also, some-interview-ma for 3 p.m. CST would be awesome. The reason we had to leave at zero dark thirty this morning is because I had to reschedule a phone interview for a potentially very exciting copyediting gig for a national corporation and adding them to my client list would be a coup. Thanks!)

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Last minute work trip to NOLA. I'll be there next Wednesday and Thursday (2/4-2/5), and I'd love to meet up with anyone around on Wednesday evening. I've pinged smonster and Nora, but I'm not sure if anyone else is going to be in the area then. Discussion to happen in F2F if necessary.

edit: Spelling. More coffee is evidently necessary.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The Teacup family is expanding! Our little teacup (ltc) is due mid-August! We're beyond excited. I'm only posting here for now until I can get in touch with all of my relatives, so please no comments on other social media until I post there.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

X-posty with FB:

As of this Friday, I will no longer be an employee of that company that makes Orphan Black and Doctor Who. After almost 11 years here, I am moving on to manage content operations for that company that sells books you can listen to and advertises on many podcasts.

I could use all of the "take my house back please"~ma that you have. My deed-in-lieu application is going in for approvals today, and I will have an answer in three to five business days. Please, please, let them say yes. Otherwise, I'm screwed.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

For those not on FB, I learned after an MRI this week that I will not be able to run the marathon I've been training for since November. I'm pretty bummed. But it's not a stress fracture, which they'd feared; it's just really bad bursitis. That means some time of complete rest (no running, no elliptical, limited walking), but I will make a complete recovery and start training for several more half marathons this year. My next one is in May. I plan to try again for the LA Marathon next year. Thanks for your support and for those who donated to my run. The dogs at Westside so appreciate it. I hope you'll consider supporting my second attempt next year.

Compassionately intolerant

I am humbly asking for click-votes for the Washington City Paper "Best of" list for 2015.

In 2013, I realized that they did not have a Best Life Coach category, which seemed odd since there is a category for best place to buy fur handcuffs. (not kidding)

So, I worked with their very cool staff for two years and here it is!

I sincerely want to reach as many people as I can and would be so grateful for any and every email address you can spare.

The best news is, they do NOT spam and any email address will do.

The link will open in a new window.

Many, many thanks...this is my version of asking for ~ma for a new job!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Have been, as the kids so cleverly say, future endeavored. Taking the rest of the week off before I start hunting.
