Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I have an article accepted in the peer reviewed Review of Radical Political Economics (RRPE).

It is a critique of an 'improved' carbon trading proposal. I will post a link when it is published. Upon initial publication it will be behind a paywall, but then after a year I can put an electronic copy on-line for free access. So I will post the first link upon publication, the second once the year has passed.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Requesting ~ma, work-related, details as yet unspecified, at around 1:00 board time/4:00 Eastern.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm home. Vacation is over and I am sad.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

It's done. I've officially resigned from the job from hell. They're not sure yet how long they want me to stay on.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Could I get some good karma and car~ma for friends of mine (and Nora's)? Their tale of woe is long and spans years; last week they packed the van to move to CA and regroup, only their car broke down before they even crossed the state line and they're stuck in a highway motel for probably another week while their insurance and warranty play hot potato with paying for repairs. Just in the last month there have been ER visits (yes, plural) and now the house they're selling here was broken into and some things taken.

So please, direct what extra good thoughts you can summon towards Lake Charles. Thanks.

I will be in San Francisco Wednesday, August 28th through Monday, Sept. 2nd (though my flight on Monday leaves at 7 am.)

No real set plans. I'm available for wandering during the day and in the evening on Wednesday and Thursday. This is a time for me to get rid of a lot of negative crap and reset for the next chapter. I'd love to see as many of you as I can. My apologies for the short notice.

edit: Discussion in F2F.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I could use some job-ma in my general direction. I just sent my resume off for a copy editor position for a big old medical journal. Also to a company that provides editing services for academic articles written by ESL authors.
