Update for all:
My mother went home two weeks ago, having spent recovery since her open-heart surgery at my niece and nephew's place.
She is doing well, and we spent some time with her at my niece Teresa's wedding last week.
(Teresa being her granddaughter and the kick-ass hero who stopped an abduction a few years ago)
If there is a Buffista who would like to inherit a gently used and much loved 3G and WiFi Kindle Touch, I would like it to go to a good home. ND bought me a Paperwhite as a birthday gift (we delayed purchase until now for financial reasons); there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Touch. I read from it every night. I will also donate my pink and orange Kindle book cover, which works like a charm.
ETA: The Kindle has been claimed. It is going to a very good (and very gothy) home. Hurray!
Can I please get some Buffista health~ma for my Aunt Karen, who is in a Texas hospital being treated for pneumonia? Prognosis sounds good, but she's going to be in isolation for up to a week.
And some -ma for my friend Becca, who many of you met, would be much appreciated. She is right now headed into surgery to remove the tumor in her neck. It's likely benign, but the surgery is going to be heavily influenced by how deep it's penetrated into her facial nerves. I am here at the hospital waiting for her since her family is all on the East Coast (and she IS family).
Shameless begging for anyone with clicks to spare. My Dude now gets paid 10 cents a click for every repeat visitor to his blog site at Forbes. He used to just get paid per visitor--and he did all right on his own. If you feel like visiting five times every single day from now on, that would be fabulous. Or, you know, once or twice a week. A request for some everything goes normal, plus easy recovery-ma for my dad, please. He's going in for (probably quadruple) bypass this morning. I'm not by nature a worrier, so I'm sure everything will be just fine. But having patented Buffista -ma behind it makes me that much surer. Thanks.
This could be nothing or it could be everything. Could I have some job~ma around 5:30 this evening? Best prospect in a long, long time. Please, and thank you.
The ~ma comes through as always. Dad came through his (triple) bypass surgery great. We're told his heart is strong, he should be moved from ICU to the regular floor sometime today, and anticipating a good recovery. Thanks, y'all!
Great news, epic!
Thanks for the -ma. It worked. Looks like I'm flying to NH for an interview. The job can be done from anywhere, as long as it's a reasonable distance from an airport.
Back with hat in hand for more ~ma, as I have a cousin currently undergoing treatment to remove spots of cancer on his liver. He's previously lost much of his sight to a brain tumor, so it'd be nice if life could let him have an easier time of things for a while. (Doctors are optimistic that the cancer hasn't spread beyond the spots they detected, so prognosis looks good.)
The aunt that I posted about last week got released from the hospital today, so all looks good on that front!
