Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

New Mom update. Her GP thinks the pulmonologist may be wrong and it's NOT cancer. Mom is going to get a biopsy to see if it is the extremely rare type of infection which her doctor thinks it is. I'll go home for that and stay until we have an answer.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have a new piece up today celebrating the work of my all-time favorite comic artist, Joe Kubert.

Please check it out and give it a "Like" if you're so inclined.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Can I get some promotion-ma for my DH this week? I don't want to jinx it, but...his mad computer-fu skillz need to be recognized and his bosses need to say he's Da Man. It looks likely. (I can't say more, silly NDAs.)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Psst.... if y'all are so inclined, could you "like" my employer's fb page? As you probably know, if we get to a certain number of likes we can do different kinds of posts. Or something. IDK, I just put up Visqueen and break glass. [link]

back home and yes, it is lung cancer. Mom is having a PET scan this week to see what stage she is at. I am so glad I could be here for her during all this.

My hotmail account was hacked and several Buffistas, among others, have gotten spam from "me." I apologize. Microsoft has been alerted, but it may take 24 hours to review the issue and hopefully get it taken care of.

I'm really sorry, not to mention PISSED.

Mea culpa.

ETA: Problem is fixed. If you get anymore spam, contact me and I will go apeshit on MSN...who were very quick in their response, I must say.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

If I could have same ease-ma for my mother.

She just got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and it has spread to her liver. At this point, she's just going to let things take their course, as anything she would do would just postpone, and probably wouldn't be very pleasant. She's 90, in managed care, and has been ready to go for a couple of years now. Her response to the diagnosis was "Good." of all things, but I understand her point of view. Right now all we can hope for is that she is comfortable when she goes.

We don't have a timetable on this, but it sounds like it won't be long. At least she's lucid so we have a chance to say goodbye, unlike my dad who was suffering from dementia when he passed.

Now tagless for your comfort.

A touch of interview~ma would be appreciated as DH has telephone interviews with firms in Seattle and Boston. If he gets offers from both, it would be like Buffista's Choice.

My Mom's PET scan results are in--her cancer is limited to the one large spot on her lung! This means a partial lumpectomy will make her cancer-free. Her doctor reported that this is the best result they could have wished for. Yay!!!

Dear Buffistas,

You are the best people in the world. But you knew that.

Thank you.
