Yes, there is a bit of improvement. Infectious diseases specialist said today that Daniel will likely need to be in the hospital for at least another two weeks. He also said that it looks like a staph infection. The wound care team said long-term IV antibiotics (I'm not really sure if that means weeks or months).
If I could get some of the Buffista -ma for my mom, I'd really appreciate it. I just found out she's in the hospital, mostly due to dehydration (I won't go into details on why that doesn't surprise me apart from the fact that she barely consumes any liquids on a daily basis). It seems things are OK, but the worry is going to be the there until she's home.
Update on Mom - she's doing good. They'll keep her until Monday as a precaution, but it looks like she had a bad GI reaction to a couple of meds she just started taking. The doctor on her case is going to help her streamline how many meds she has to take a day (something she hated doing, because she had to take so many). We'll see how things go from here.
Thanks for the well wishes.
If anyone would like to receive a postcard while I am in the UK, please send me your meatspace address to my profile address.
Just got off the phone with Daniel - he sounds so much better. The doctor is not planning to release him yet, but he was able to walk today without screaming in pain. And talking to him, he sounds more like himself. Thank you all so much for your support, and for all the ~ma. We aren't quite ready to release it back into the wild, but that's ok, we can always make more.
Grace has another surgery at 7:30 AM board time. Please send good breathing vibes.
I live in Cincinnati now. Only 275 behind in Natter!
