Our Anderson Cooper appearance airs today. We have no idea if this will help, or just attract more flamers/grifters to our search.
We shared a dressing room with the cat Willow, a cat who looks like Anderson, the pig and the baby sloth. (The sloth was 6 months old, about 3 lbs and puppy-soft to pet. Everyone backstage was a sucker for the sloth because she had such a sweet face.)
Wish us some good luck.
I'll be mostly grey from this Sunday to next Saturday while I'm at a workshop. I'm a little nervous, mostly about the flight-related getting-there and back shenanigans, but also on general principles. See you on the other side!
Daniel is home from the hospital.
He's taking a nap on the couch with Harvey.
We're releasing 60% of the medical~ma back into the wild, keeping a bit in reserve until he is completely better.
We love you all, and bask in the love you give us.
Some new Ryan photos, including the Sydney trip and the last photos of Wallybee's parents before they returned to China.
The new photos begin here, with our little Jedi: [link]
Our Sydney trip earlier this year begins here, outside the Chinese Gardens of Darling Harbour: [link] Of special note is this pic with his Daddy: [link] This is what we were watching: [link]

Penguins are a recurring theme in our home's decor, and Ryan's room is no exception: [link]
The last photo with his grandparents, taken at a Greek restaurant: [link]
This is the photo I linked to earlier. He's growing up so quickly! He's becoming more and more his own little person each day. [link]
His refrigerator art. The fridge magnet motif constitutes the only serious rival to penguins in our household: [link]
Can I get some unspecified job~ma this week? I will give details later but I'm a nervous wreck!
Hi all.
I saw my PCP today. He says at least 1 month before I can return to work. The leg is very fragile and I could lose it if I go back too soon. Two hours dailyin traffic and even part time would be bad. Crap. Re-eval in 3 weeks after I've had a chance to recuperate a bit.
I just submitted the online application for the job I am currently temping at. It is in the printing industry, it pays well and I would be able to move to a cooler town!
I really, really, REALLY need and want this job. I honestly don't know how much longer I can survive on temp jobs that barely pay the bills.
So, please and spare job~ma you might have laying around would be greatly appreciated!
So...Somervillians...I will be in your fair city for work and look to have time to meet people for dinner this coming Wednesday evening...might anyone be free? Discussion in F2F.
You people... I am overwhelmed. I have lost all the words, and I really mean ALL THE WORDS. It's OK, because there are none that can adequately express just how grateful I am for your kindness and generosity. Truly, I didn't much get beyond flapping hands and slight blubbering. (Ask sarameg; I think I stunned her with the lack of verbosity.) The rosary is gorgeous, and it happens to be my favorite physical manifestation of organized prayer. I will treasure it always, because it is a symbol of how much people can care.
I've been on the side of the givers before, and the feeling is awesome. Being a recipient of the Buffista largesse is completely overwhelming and so very humbling. I can never thank you all enough, and I certainly can never repay you, so I will just try to pay it forward. I thank god every day that I stumbled upon this place in 2004. You have been my sounding board and my sanity during some very trying times in my life. I love the people in the box.
