I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm going dark until sometime tomorrow afternoon. I've got a math competition in Mississippi.

Mostly lurking...

Just wanted to update you all on my brother’s surgery. He’s out and home and recovering. The surgery went fine. The only little hitch was they had to put a tube down his throat for part of the surgery. I still haven’t quite figured out why…my mom wasn’t explaining it very well. Anyway, the fact that he had a tube down his throat might affect his vocal chords. And, he’s a music (voice) major in college right now…getting ready to do his Senior Recital in April. Damage to his vocal chords right now would be devastating. So, please continue to send vocal chord vibes Chicago-wards. I greatly appreciate it, as I know he does too.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Going semi-dark for the week if I don't get to the library, or blindingly bright on the T1 if I do.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hey, Buffistas!

Just got a call for an interview for a six week spot. A full time job would be nice of course, but paying my rent for the next few months is right up there too.

Any spare jobma would be appreciated.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Finally heard about the position. I did not get it. Definitely a disapoinment, but the person they chose instead of me is definitely well qualified.

The place I applied was Z Magazine - run by the same people who run Z Net. [link] They are good people and a great source for political information on the web. I especially recommend znet as an online source. [link]

Typo Boy, you are a class act.

Looks like the Buffista Jobma (Temp Division) has worked again! I've got 6-8 weeks of well paid work lined up. I thank you, my landlady thanks you, and my three digit checking account thanks you.
