Marco: Do we look reasonable to you? Mal: Well. Looks can be deceiving. Jayne: Not as deceiving as a low down dirty... deceiver.

Our wings are not tired.

Attn: LAistas

I finally made hotel reservations for my LA marathon trip. I opted to stay where I wanted to as opposed to staying within a block or two of the marathon starting line. Now I have to examine the transportation issue of getting the 16 miles to the race.

I chose The Cadillac Hotel on Venice Beach. It looks old and art deco filled and beachy. We’ll be there Sat and Sun night the 1st and 2nd of March.

I opted against getting tickets for the official carbo-loading dinner with the marathon participants in the hopes that I might be able to talk the LAistas into hosting a foamier carbo-loading event Saturday night.

After the race on Sunday I plan to feast on my traditional after race favorite, pizza and california rolls. I haven’t thought far enough in advance to know where I will consume said feast.

Talk to me LAistas, let’s get coordinaty.

PS Yes, I hit the wrong thread first. Just another example of how much I need stress reduction.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Sometime between now and Monday (but don't count on it) I should hear about the job applied for. Please - strong, strong buffista jobma vibes.

My friend is not going to Iraq! Apparently his battalion used to be part of the 101st Airborne but has since been detached.

Numfar, do the dance of non-combatance!

He is, however, staying in Korea, within shouting distance of the DMZ/Kim Jong Il/the most highly trained army in the world short of ours.

Hey, everybody, remember peace and prosperity? Wasn't that fun?!</bitter>

ALSO: I got a callback for this thing which I shouldn't mention here because I just know they have those keystroke reader programs installed on our computers here at work. But it's good and has money.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Just to let people know, I'll be going dark from tommorrow for a Valentine's Day long weekend in Savannah with Bec (er, of course). Have a good one all.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

Galapagos pictures and captions are up for your viewing pleasure. Let me state now that Kevin wrote all the captions, and no one gets to laugh at the stupid hat I'm wearing in most of the pictures.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

I'll be dark this weekend as I'll be in Boston for Boskone.

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Valentines Day!

If you didn't get a valentine it is because I don't have your address! Much love to all Buffistas.

I went back to my ENT today.

I'm having surgery on March 27th and will be off work for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately, my doctor dropped the bomb that the surgery may not recover my senses of smell and taste. He said I only have a 50/50 chance of them returning since the swelling in my sinus may have damaged the nerves in my sinus, damage that cannot be reparied. This was an unexpected turn of events which I wasn't prepared to hear.
