The tests they did after my brother Mark had surgery for colon cancer revealed that it was somewhat worse than they'd thought--it was just beginning to spread into his lymph system. His prognosis is still good, but now he'll be having chemo.
If the Apocalypse Comes, Beep Me
Birth, death, illness, new job, vacation...if it's happening to you and you want us to know about it, post it here. These threads are intended for announcements only. Want to offer sympathy or congratulations, or talk about anything? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
I just found my roommate's cat, Rupert, lying dead on my bedroom floor... I'm in shock, I guess. He was only 5 and a half, and had given us next to no indication that he was unwell-- he was a little wobbly for about five minutes last week, but nothing since then. (This is the large orange tiger Maine Coon cat that some Buffistas have met/seen.) He appears to have passed silently and peaceably -- he was on his side with his legs stretched out, as I've seen him sleeping plenty of times before. I just can't believe this has happened, he was fine this morning....
I've come down with viral bronchitis. I'm pretty much incapable of doing anything. Including class. This whole thing pretty much blows. Any good heath vibes would be wholeheartedly appreciated.
I'll be going dark for a few days - I'm trying to fight off whatever the current bug going around here is, and when I DO get back in the office, there will probably be 8 gazillion emergencies clamoring for my attention.
I'll be going dim for the next week or so - between life, auditions, and shows, I can't keep up. If anyone needs me, my profile addy is good.
Love and support to those who need it.
Right. Also:
Twin Cities-istas: The consensus for the Buffy pilot watching party seems to be either Sundays or Thursdays. I will consult calendars and send out emails later on this week. I apologize for slacking on this.
Jobma vibes greatly appreciated for my 4pm (EST) interview...
I now have an interview at 10:00 a.m. (PST) tomorrow. It's for a part-time admin job. I'm avoiding anything full-time that's admin-ish, but am open to part-time clerical stuff as a way to pay the bills while building a freelance client base. A plus side to this one is I'd be doing some business writing as part of the job, and would be meeting folks from a different range of local businesses than I've run across in my previous experience.
So, jobma vibes appreciated. I'll also take wisdom vibes, to keep me from desperately grasping this or anything else unless it's a good choice.
