I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Generalized health~ma for my grandfather, please. He's been having hoarse spells, is very weak, and has no interest in food (THAT IS JUST NOT RIGHT). My mom just lost her mother last fall; as much as my grandfather drives me nuts we'd all like to have him around a while longer.

Many thanks.

“Not dead yet!”

LAistas, I'm scheduled to be in your fair city for a writing conference from Thursday until Tuesday morning. I don't have a huge amount of free time (although that may change, depending on how good this conference is-- it's my first time, so we'll see), but I would love, love, love to see some people. I'll be at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza and I'll of course have phone and and computer. Thursday afternoon and evening I know for sure I'm free so that might be a good time to hook up-- anything beyond that, I'll have a better idea after the first day. I'll be checking in F2F-- please, please-- I'd love to see some of you!

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

ND's gall bladder surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning, 7:30am board time. It should be totally easy-peasy, but good thoughts are always welcome. If all goes well, he will be home (though groggy) tomorrow afternoon.

(And Barb, we'd love to see you if you could come up here Thursday night, but I doubt ND will be up to going anywhere.)

I look more rad than Lutheranism

The Boy's mom is in the hospital. (Quick backstory: she has COPD [chronic obstructive pulmonary disease] and is, on a good day, kind of frail. She's in her 70s and doing the best she can, but has been gradually declining.)

She's got an infection in her lungs, which is obviously the worst damn place that could be, and she's having a LOT of trouble breathing. The respiratory specialist is working with her right now, and they'll probably keep her at least overnight, and probably longer.

There's supposed to be a huge family shindig in 2 1/2 weeks to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, and I'd really REALLY like to see that happen.

She's a wee, tiny woman, but she could use a boatload of health~ma. Thanks.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

So I'm really proud. My younger sister is now a member of a house team at The People's Improv Theater. You may know of other members like Kristen Schaal and Ellie Kemper.

So yeah. Pretty proud. Also, if you're in NY and want to go, her team performs tomorrow at 9 or 9:30, I think.
