My best man, Alex, had kidney transplant surgery today.
The donor was his girlfriend/mother of their child.
If you can spare a good thought for them and wish them some quick healing, and a successful transplant I'd appreciate it.
They could use some -ma.
Twenty-four days until the Winter Olympics!
We have 2 extra tickets to Women's Luge on February 15 (5:00 PM) if anyone is interested. Keep in mind the venue, the Whistler Sliding Center, will be a bit of a bite in the ass to get to (you'll need bus tickets to Whistler unless you have a car pass because you own property up there) but it's the Olypmics!
We paid $50 for the tix once fees etc were all calculated, but we'd like to recoup the face value which is $30. If interested email msgullo at gmail dot com.
Does any Buffista currently use QUMAS at work, for electronic document management? And if you do, could you please be so kind as to write me at my profile addy? I am in the final talks with vendor before signing contract and am extending my due diligence to asking Buffistas if they've had trouble or delight with the system.
Just in time for the reception: more Hawaii wedding pictures. These are some of the real pictures taken by our friend (and professional photographer) Kat. These include the first pictures of the actual ceremony.
More photos of Ryan, plus groupies! Starts here: [link] Includes first documented evidence of tooth. [link]
X-posted with Bitches, but I have a release date for Carmen (Actual title: When the Stars Go Blue)
According to Lovely Editor, we have a November 23, 2010 release date, which is the Tuesday before American Thanksgiving, which rocks, because, hello, holiday season shopping! Hopefully, many people will be buying a copy for the booklovers on their lists.
I've officially applied to move to production (conveniently located on the same floor, although this would mean working on all humanities and social sciences titles rather than just languages), and at the same time realized I am being groomed for a marketing field position in my group.
Craziness over the next few weeks expected, job~ma appreciated.
Still more pictures from the reception--most of these probably aren't all that exciting since they're all from disposable cameras and aren't the best quality, but there are some cute Buffista shots in the mix: [link]
My baby college-graduated brother is moving to Boston at the end of Feb and needs a job and a place to live.
If any Bostonistas know of a cheap sublet near public transportation, or an entry level job, ping me! (Bonus points if the job is in a university lab or medical research type place so he can use his biology degree. He is WAY smarter than all his big sisters and also over 6 feet tall, which will help if there are things in the lab on really high shelves.)
I just got the final reception pictures from our photographer friend, and there are a few more cute Buffista shots: [link]
