"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Asking ~ma for my sis and her unit - in a few hours she's gonna do what she does on IDF in even more dangerous conditions.

“Not dead yet!”

Seattleistas! We have travel plans for coming to scope out the area-- we're coming in Tuesday, 9/22 in the afternoon and departing obscenely early on Saturday 9/26.

Here's the fun part-- Lewis' 40th is on Friday and I would LOVE to organize a dinner/get together that night. Any suggestions on where to go and who can come would be most welcome. I'll be checking F2F.

YAY! SOOOO Excited!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Your timing sucks, love, at least for me. We leave for NC 9/22, and will be there until after Thanksgiving. I guess we'll have to wait till you move out here to get together.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I will take some "work out for the best"-ma in about half an hour, which is when I start a three-hour job interview. I'm not sure what "the best" is, but I have faith that Buffista-ma will figure it out.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

A hat trick of ~ma tomorrow would be most appreciated.

1. My grandmother is in the hospital, so some ~ma to get her patched up and on her way would be great.

2. My mom is going in to the hospital tomorrow morning to get her knee replaced. Good thoughts for successful surgery also welcome. Also a successful recovery, but that will be going on for the next several weeks.

3. I have a second interview for a job tomorrow morning at 9am EST - the patented Buffista ~ma is sorely needed given my recent track record with job stuff.

Thanks!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Some of that awesome Buffista~ma would be appreciated. Friday morning, my father is going in for surgery. It's for a cyst on his pancreas. The hope is they can snip off just the part that has the cyst, and not nick the spleen. Apparently they are tightly packed in there. If they can do the snip, should be pretty easy. If the spleen gets nicked, it will have to go too, which will be a lot more recovery time. The biggest thing that makes me nervous is, we have the same nueromuscular disease, and one side effect is Malignant Hypothermia from General Anesthesia. Pretty rare, and the drugs they use these days is less of a problem. But, it's still a possibility, and pretty fatal. So please, send some "just need the slip, and keep a good temperature"~ma to the NY area. I appreciate it!

Ann, that's a ferret.

If there's any left over, I'd like it for Rigatoni, our youngest cat. He's been diagnosed as in acute kidney failure. We took him to NYC for dialysis (becuase it's the only place even vaguely near DC that does feline dialysis). The vets found a blockage that caused the failure, but he's still on dialysis to try to buy time for hte kidney to start again. He's also gone through a dangerous bout of abdominal bleeding.

And a little for his best friend Seamus, who's lost without his buddy.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Rigatoni is doing very poorly this morning. He isn't breathing enough on his own. The vet thinks some urine might be leaking from the tube they stuck in his kidney, and going where urine shouldn't be going.

They're trying to fix the tube now. If that doesn't work, I don't know what we have left.
