The freezing temperatures, the mounting number of things I said I'd do that I'm just not finding time to get to, and spending the weekend doing disaster recovery are all making me something Less Than Sane.

Going dim for a while.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

This morning I mailed an application for a job that on paper looks like a providentially perfect match for my needs. It's a short-term assignment, 9-10 weeks starting the beginning of March, doing something I'm good at (the form of cat herding known as event planning) for a better hourly rate than I've ever had in my life. It looks like a perfect way to keep us in funds through tax time while I'm getting all my freelancing ducks in a row.

Anyway, it's only one of several things I'm applying for this week, but it's such a perfect fit that I'd go ahead and ask for jobma vibes to get an interview.

And it keeps getting better.

My father is probably going back into the hospital later this week for continuing heart problems -- has to get another blockage cleared.

Consider me a darker shade of dim.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Going dim due to a trip to handle some family issues. My brother's schizophrenia seems to be getting worse, and I'm hoping to meet with him and his psychiatrist to tweak his meds and keep him out of a mental hospital. Good vibes are always appreciated.

Insent to several buffistas--best way to get a hold of me is at the profile email addy.

Going to a job fair tommorrow. Please send good jobma vibes my way.

If there are any good health vibes to spare, I'd appreciate folks sending them toward my dad. He felt a snap when putting weight on his (paralyzed) foot yesterday, and we're taking him in today to see if he's broken a bone or suffered some less serious injury. Crossing my fingers that it's just something pushed out of joint that won't result in more long-term pain and difficulty moving for him.

Queen of the Drive-By

Good news! This thread could sure use some. My boyfriend and I are moving in together! Eeeeeee! We're both very happy and excited, and we are disgustingly sappy and in love. Let's hear everyone say it: "Awwwwwwwwww!" We're hoping to shack up at the beginning of March if we can find a suitable place. I'm all smiles.

Oh, and some worry making news- I had to have a biopsy on some suspicious looking spots found on my cervix. Gulp. Keep your fingers crossed that its no big. I'm trying not to worry. Much.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wow. I forgot what it was like to get good news.

Dear Kim and David:

I'm very pleased to inform you that our Editorial Board has approved my offering you a contract for the SCRAM GUIDE. You'll also be pleased to hear that no one liked THE GREATEST RECORDS YOU NEVER HEARD title, so we're back to the drawing board. We're going to discuss some further titles here, but if you have any favorites of the many that have been suggested, let me know.
