I realize I have not given an update in a while.
S
finally
came home from the hospital last night, eleven weeks to the day after she went in. She spent almost three months, a quarter of the year, in the hospital.
Now we can finally get on with trying to figure out what happens now. It's likely S will be moving to Texas in January, to be with her family and be around more people who can help care for her. It's also possible (though unknown how likely) that she'll receive a liver transplant between now and then, as she's jumped up quite a few places on the transplant list.
We don't really know what's going to happen, who is moving where or anything like that, but now we're in a place where we can figure all that out.
Wish us a peaceful and smooth transition, and please send any ~ma you can spare that the next time S goes in to the hospital, it is to get a new liver, and that her body doesn't reject it. The way the last several months have gone, I don't have much hope that she'll survive any more emergency health problems. She came very, very close to not surviving this one.
Some extra, unspecified~ma between now and Friday evening would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I can explain on Saturday.
Releasing that powerful Buffista ~Ma back into the wild. Remember, I asked for it was nothing ~ma? Well it was nothing. Thank you all.
I'll take some of that "it is nothing" goodness. Tomorrow aroung 11:30 eastern time.
Thanks
And if there's any left by early afternoon, I'd like some for Teddy. He's undergoing an endoscopy.
ZOMG! The Gothic Charm School book is available for pre-order on Amazon!
Wheeee! FABULOUS news, Jilli! Brava!
Meanwhile, just a quickie to reassure people (lest they worry) that although, yes, there have apparently been several explosions in the main airport in Bangkok, and it has been closed, and it's all looking a little hairy, so far everything in town seems fine and I'm still at work. So although the news reports apparently are a bit worrisome, from the ground things are presently business as usual.
(Although I'm a trifle nervous about our trip to the Peninsula Hotel with the school choir this evening. But afaik there haven't been attacks on big swanky hotels at this stage in the game.)
FAQ Wife & I visited the Zmayhems last weekend and took some photos of Matilda Zmayhem at Circus School. There's a video in there, too.
If you all could spare a thought for my sister and her family we'd really appreciate it. Her seven month old son Brody has been taken to hospital with a brain aneurysm. He'd stopped breathing, and is currently on a ventilator. The prognosis isn't looking hopeful right now.
My FiL just called. MiL had an MRI this morning and it appears she has suffered a mild stroke. They're heading back to the hospital to see a neurologist and a vascular specialist.
She's awake and feeling ok but a little bit of ~ma would be appreciated.
