We, too, are part of the 100k people without power right now. We lost power on Sunday afternoon and it's not expected back until Friday. We don't have telephone, and we're cooking over a coleman stove in the backyard. The kids think it's the best fun ever. The public library's internet is down, but I finally found a coffee shop that has access. Power~ma much appreciated.
Edit: By the time I got home from the coffee shop, power had been restored. Thanks!
I'm also without power, and have been since Sunday night. Crews here are estimating service will be returned Sunday, but I'm really hoping for something before then. There's also no power at my job, so I've been working half-days (kind of nice, but frustrating). Power~ma, if you please?
Wow, that ~ma is pretty strong stuff! When I got back to my apartment tonight my power was back on!

Well, it's official. Dial just canceled my contract for the Carmen young adult novel.
My brain hurts. I've been combing databases for "La conciencia de la mestiza/Towards a New Consciousness," the last essay in Gloria Anzaldúa's book Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza. Does anyone have access to this article who could either link or send me a pdf? I would be deeply grateful. Profile addy good.

After TokyoPop's contraction and layoffs, and the challenging nature of getting an artist for my steampunk influenced comic Zephyr Dray , they have terminated the contract to do it. So no comic.
Upside, AFAIK, my adventure for the Serenity RPG is still a go, off to prepress last I heard...
My game show tapes Wednesday October 1st. I can have guests in the audience but you'd have to be there all day if I'm on the last show and there's a chance I wouldn't get on at all. If this sounds like your idea of fun email lagarat at gmail and I'll get you on the guest list.
