Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

not your mom's socks.

is it ok if I ask to keep the good-outcome~ma coming for a little while? Things are happening, but they're still all up in the air and befuddled-like.

It just got announced this afternoon that my company, the company that I moved to Seattle for, is having layoffs tomorrow morning.

-ma, please? If not for a job, then at least for decent severance and eligibility for unemployment (which may not be possible)?

Er, yeah. So, um, more -ma for "eligibility for unemployment", please? Since after only four months here, I no longer have a job?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

GF's dad passed away this afternoon. Thanks for all of your support over the last year.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

If I might borrow some of that fantastic job-ma I hear so much about...I have a phone interview this afternoon for a faculty position. I've applied for over a dozen, but this is one of only two that are in the West, where I'd prefer to live.

If anyone's got some extra job~ma, I could use some on Monday morning. I'm not sure whether I'm going to take the job if they offer it, but not-interviewing-badly~ma is always good.

One of my supervisors has put in her resignation, and wants me to be her successor. As she doesn't have the authority to outright hire me herself, we shall depend on our powers of sensible persuasion to get me the job.

Right, so a bit of ~ma for that would be great, please and thank you.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You know that commercial where the kids are going to Disney, and the little boy is all, "We're too exciiited to sleeeep!" and the parents are too? That's me tonight.

The Day has arrived; we're moving in. Most of the little fiddly stuff is over there, but I'll be finishing the breakables and some foodstuffs in the morning while the SO & our board member & buddy haul the big stuff over. Assuming they can dig out through the snow.

What this means to you is a) soon there will be picspam, oh yes, and b) I will be likely going grey for a while. Haven't heard from the radio internet guy yet, so we'll have to see what happens with that.

Meep! Hope everything works right!
