Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun? Now I'm not saying you weren't easy to find. It was kinda out of our way, and he didn't want to come in the first place. Man's lookin' to kill some folk. So really it's his will y'all should worry about thwarting.

move out and draw fire

You know, I mentioned in Bitches that I'll be moving back to the DC area next summer, but I was holding off announcing it "officially" in case my DH got directed to Iraq. However, if that happens, Mal and I will be moving to DC anyway, so...DCistas, plan for a housewarming party next summer!

Because books.

I'm posting this here, because so many people are involved.

Buffistas are wonderful. At the moment, I'm overwhelmed by just how wonderful they are. When I posted that Stephen had lost his job, I never expected so many loving, generous people to keep the Grinch at bay this year. An iPod for Jake has already arrived, and I know that other gifts, including money, are coming.

When I say overwhelmed, I'm really not kidding. I feel incredibly loved, incredibly blessed, and so grateful to be part of a community that cares for each other in so many ways. Everyone who is part of this has all of my gratitude. I wish I could send everyone cookies and porn and plot bunnies and new TiVos and additional seasons of Firefly. Thank you all, so much.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have no words, so I will let Spencer Michael Free say them for me.

‘Tis the human touch in this world that counts,
The touch of your hand and mine,
Which means far more to the fainting heart
Than shelter and bread and wine;
For shelter is gone when the night is o’er,
And bread lasts only a day,
But the touch of the hand and the sound of the voice
Sing on in the soul alway.

You all, and I mean all, have touched my soul and I am grateful and blessed and honored.

Thank you doesn't seem to cover it. But, not being a poet, it's what I have and I mean it with every fiber of my being.

Thank you.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I know some of us love cats and some of us don't, if there is anyone in the Indiana area looking for a cat or cats, a poster from the kittypix LiveJournal community is being forced to move very quickly and give up her cats. She is the owner who hand raised Runty McRunterson, who I believe has been linked to here.

If anyone is looking for a cat, the thread where you can post is here:

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

If anyone's got some extra ~ma lying around, could you please send it in the direction of my sister and cousin? They were in a serious car accident early Sunday morning. His car is totaled, he's still in the hospital, and my sister needs surgery on her hand. The police and EMS said it's a miracle they weren't killed. It was car versus bridge retaining wall so no one else was involved.

A little no-breakdown~ma for me as well, please. I'm so very tired of this.

Hopefully this is the last bit of ~ma I will be requesting for a long, long while.

My sister goes in for surgery to repair her finger tomorrow at 11 am EST. Please send whatever you've got left her way. Thanks so much from all of us.
