And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH and I are off to Paris and London for ten days! We'll be pretty dark grey until we get back. Au revoir!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Anyone who hasn't heard through the grapevine and wondered where I've disappeared to...the IT Dept. at work has turned up the blocking software recently. One of the consequences of which has been to make Buffistas completely unavailable to me on weekdays. As I'm in classes several nights a week, and my laptop is still a large paperweight, I'll be continuing quite dark for the foreseeable future.

Profile addy's good if anyone would like to drop me a line. Miss you guys.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

My oldest uncle is in the hospital with aspiration pneumonia. Yesterday, the doctor called to ask whether I wanted her to install a stomach tube or put my uncle on "comfort care." I asked for a speech therapist to be brought in for consultation/evaluation, but otherwise still haven't answered.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm being all Hardworking New Employee at my new job, so no b.org during the day for a while for me. And home is still dial-up. So I'll be a dark charcoal, pinstriped by a lighter shade of gray on the weekends.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

So we had a Coup D'Etat.

But so far, everything's okay. Yesterday there was no school, because of the revolution, but today we're back at work and it seems to be pretty calm and the king supports the new guys, and EVERYONE adores the king, so I reckon it's going to be fine. So, er, don't freak out.

Our wings are not tired.

Things really get exciting when Fay's in town.

We could use a whole lot of OMG~It’s~A~Perfect~Fit~ma sent in the direction of Mobile, Alabama. DH has a day long series of presentations that will result in an ideal project for us if TPTB see the perfect fit as we do. It is really a good deal for all parties concerned but bureaucracy is always cumbersome. All the powerful Buffista vibes are so very much appreciated.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I have been dark for the last week, because I fell off a chair, went to the hospital, lost my at home internet, was swamped at work with grading (when I wasn't on Vicodin because of the arm).

I have gotten books from Alaska and from Erika! Thanks, guys! More personal responses later, and I will respond to emails and such next week, but I just posted grades and it's 3:45 on Friday, and I am getting the fuck out of here.

Love you all! Byeeeee....

My powerbook has (once again) decided to melt down, and this time reformatting the hard drive took multiple tries and still doesn't seem to have worked real well...I think I'ma have to send it in for service or something, we'll see what the Genius Bar says when I take it in on Monday.

Which is to say, I may be sans home computer for a while here, since I don't check b.org from work...I'ma try to catch up a bit right now, see how long this thing lasts before freaking out again, but after that I'll likely be dark grey for a bit.

(edit: but i should have email at work, so if anyone *needs* me, or just wants to entertain me, I'm mearagirl, on yahoo)

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

I brought my uncle home from the hospital today. There's nothing more they could've done for him and he wanted to come home. So home is where he'll leave this world.
