If the Apocalypse Comes, Beep Me
Birth, death, illness, new job, vacation...if it's happening to you and you want us to know about it, post it here. These threads are intended for announcements only. Want to offer sympathy or congratulations, or talk about anything? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
I'm leaving Maryland today, stopping for a couple days in Indiana, then heading out to Colorado, so I'll be various shades of dark for at least a week.
If any of you have housing-ma you can send my way, that would probably be good, since I don't have anywhere to live in Colorado yet.
Start spreading the news...
Er, right. Once eating and packing is done, I'll be in a state transition for the next week, so I'll be locking out any changes to the system -- um, mostly out of touch as I try to keep myself awake and the cat from destroying things on the way to San Francisco. Wish me luck!
P.S. The Emily has taken flight. The rest of us are sitting around sweaty, wondering how long it will be before she finds the scary wig we left in the glove compartment.
...we told her to look in there at the first rest stop.
Ok, this time it's for real. We think.
Check out G4's "Filter" today. Joe might be on it. 4pm EST/7pm PST
If he isn't, send postcards to Fox. I hear that works.
Ok - that was supposed to be 7pm EST and 4pm PST. Durn dyslexia.
Joe was on the episode. Hopefully you TiVo'd it.
I am proctoring some of the accommodated applicants at the California State Bar. I will be locked in a room with 10 really nervous people.
If I escape alive I will thank you all.
Much ~ma would be appreciated.
You may or may not have noticed my absence. There are a lot of things keeping me busy and b.org is a hard place to come back to and catch up if you're not reading regularly. I hope to keep my hand in here, but I don't know how long it'll be 'til I manage to get into a groove with fitting b.org into my websurfing again. (And I find I'm losing track of who's who on LJ on top of it all. I can only track one alias per person.)
I'm reachable at spidra@speakeasy.net in the meantime.
I'm hoping I can still get to know the various Bay Area Buffistae better in person even if I end up slacking online.
There has been a rather important addition to Jilli's Gothic Charm School Store -

Californistas, ahoy. Especially the TAR-watching ones.
Remeber back a few months ago my sister and I did something called Urban Dare, a sort of mini one-city Amazing Race? We had a blast, and are already lining up folks to do it with us next year.
I just got an email from the race organizer that they've added a few California dates to the calendar:
Urban Dare Santa Monica will take place on Saturday, August 26. The 11AM start will be right on the beach on the south side of the Santa Monica Pier. I have some good challenges lined up for you.
I'm not sure yet where we will start the September 23 Urban Dare San Diego, but the race will cover the downtown area. After the Santa Monica race, I'll go back for more scouting.
Urban Dare San Francisco takes place on Saturday, October 8. Needless to say, there will be some hills on this course.

I strongly encourage y'all to check it out. You don't have to be athletes, though it doesn't hurt to be able to jog a few blocks.
