Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I got the job! It's a part-time position as the Young Adult Specialist at a local library, and I'll be there for at least the next 2 years while finishing up my degree.

This is really exciting for a number of reasons: it's excellent experience in exactly the field I want to work in; it pays decently (though it's only part-time, so I'll still be living partly on my financial aid) and has benefits; it's a new position, which means I have a lot of leeway in how I want to set up and run the programs; the library itself is a really cool place and I think I'm going to enjoy working there; and it gives structure to the next two years of my life, which is really as far ahead as I can ever think.

To sum up: yay!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

If anyone has any spare job-ma hanging around, I'd be grateful if you could send Good Wishes towards my best friend/flatmate, who has headed back to Britain for a fortnight in search of a job for next year. She doesn't have any interviews lined up yet, which is pretty scary, but she's a smashing teacher. And she's sort of a Buffista-by-proxy.

Going dark until Tuesday, or, more likely, Wednsday. Off to Maine for Easter and escaping Marathon Monday.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Needing Job~ma, as I have just quit the one I got when I first rolled into town here in Minnesota. Thanks.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Some late-night prayers and -ma requested for my best friend, Kerrie, and her family. Her brother texted her (and several other people) earlier this evening that he's "in too much pain" and going to end it. His family has the sherriffs on the lookout for him, but no one knows where he is. I tend to think this is more "cry for attention" than anything else, but if nothing else, this has his family completely freaked. Their mother's health is not the best, and poor Kerrie's in Maryland so can't be with her folks during this. All prayers and vibes are greatly appreciated.
