Following Jen's good news, some more good news: I just got an e-mail from Wolfram:

Baby girl born last night, 7 lbs / 19 inches. Mother and baby are doing well, thank G*d.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I have just accepted an offer for a medical writing position at a small pharmaceutical company in the Bay Area. I will be moving in either March or April, but I begin work next week.

Thanks for the job~ma. It is released!

Well, the final pathology report came in, and I will have to have a course of chemo and radiation. Turns out it was Stage II endometrial, and some of the lymph nodes removed had the bad cells.

Starting chemo next week for two rounds, then radiation for five weeks, then four more rounds of chemo.

Think this should be it for the Beep Me posts, but, again, thanks to everyone for all the -ma. To quote another buffista... it means a thing. Truly.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm flying back to the Bay Area for two weeks this weekend (March 4 - March 18) in order to learn about my new job and get integrated into the team and all. And do a lot of work, because that's what they're paying me for.

So if anything cool is happening in that time (Oscars party? BSG finale party? VM return party? Anyone?), drop me a line, please!

After that, I come back to Ann Arbor, work remotely, and freak the hell out as I figure out how to move to California in April.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Andi (Windsparrow) would like me to ask for some health~ma for a gentleman who is under her care at the group home where she works. His health took a bad turn today.

I have no specifics at this time, just a plea on my answering machine when I got home from work. She is still at work.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

My grandfather (my dad's dad) is being taken off life support. Flying home as soon as I can pack and find a flight.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

A position I'm only kinda sorta qualified for as is but would very much like to grow into has been re-listed. I will be cramming like crazy to prepare for applying. I could use all the ~ma you can muster.

And if any Buffistas have sysadmin experience, esp. Mac sysadmin experience, please drop me a line. I could do with picking some brains.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hey there, lovely people! I'm looking for some Interview-ma, if there's any going spare. I have an interview in London on the 6th March for a job in Thailand, and another one on 7th March in Prague, for a job in Prague. Both jobs sound really good at this point, although I don't know what the money's like. I'm pretty rusty on this whole interviewing thing, and I'm paying an arm and a leg to get from A to B and back to Cairo - I really want to have a job by this time next week. Either place would rock.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I just visted a friend, who fell off a ladder. Once again , the consequences are that he isn't going to be moving much for a number of weeks and recovery will be long and slow. Yes, Bruce could use some ma~~. But what I would really like to do is remind people that ladders are dangerous. honestly, all it takes is a second of not paying attention. If you are on a ladder, please be safe.
