Still only low pressure must boil water. One of my neighbors has gas water heater so I took a shower last night . Yay!
With no power for a stretch of 100 miles or so it is really dark after sundown. All the city dwellers will understand how awesome it is to see stars in the city sky.
Who knew we had so many children! Dozens of kids are outside playing ball since video games are not an option.
We went to Fort Lauderdale to check on MIL house and it is structurally fine. We will keep her with us until utilities are restored. I expect my sibs to get power before us, so we will take their generator then. Now we share with a neighbor. Fridge, tv, and cell chargers only.
Candles rock.
Everyone is doing what they can for each other. That and the cool temperature are good things.
All the best, and thanks again Val. Tell folks they can email me!
Lost my remaining two grandparents this past week, maternal grandmother on Saturday and paternal grandfather about half an hour ago. Both passed in their sleep with no pain, but appropriate ~ma for helping me to not completely lose it would be appreciated.
My wonderful and beloved grandfather is dying. He has maybe 2 weeks before everything shuts down completely. Some peaceful and comfortable days~ma, please. He's ready to go, I think. But I'm not ready to let him. He's my geepa. He can't nowhere.
I'm off to the land of Juliana, Daniel, and Windsparrow for the weekend! I'd say I'm going dark, but the free broadband at the hotel would probably make me a liar.
Going dark for a longish weekend to visit family in Indiana. DH is studying hard for his next actuarial exam (it's next Thursday) so the boy and I are leaving him in peace and quiet to do that.
I hope the Buffistas have a collective Happy Halloween!
Dark gray til Monday. In Michigan.
Jobma please. I have an interview in, gah! 40 minutes, and it's my first interview outside of my company in a long time. I'm very nervous, so some calm and cool-ma would be appreciated too.
Thanks. You guys are the best.
A bit of exam-ma would be greatly appreciated for DH today. He's taking what could very well be his final actuarial exam.
Think "6"--the actuaries will know what that means.
It's kind of last minute, but I will be in D.C. until Wednesday. If anyone wants to try to get together, we can talk about it in F2F.
I've been hoarding a shard of job-ma for lo these many months, but I can now release it to other Buffistas. I have a contract, and it's a good one! I start work on Monday!
