Now tagless for your comfort.

My 20 year old nephew appears to have OD'd last night. He's on a respirator and he may have brain damage.

I'm waiting on a call from his mother to find out what's going on. A little bit of recovery-ma for the boy and some calm-ma for my sister would be greatly appreciated.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Just heard from Dana. She says that they're fine. They still have power, but no Internet. They're expecting high winds today, and less rain.

My profile address is good if you need to get a message through.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Give her my love, love.

(So chuffed for Herself! SO chuffed! I read the novel a while ago, and it's a peach, and I am going to go and order it from the bookshop in the centre of Cairo tomorrow, damn it!)

Back to me - just wanted to assure y'all that I've not been eaten by monsters, but that a combination of laptop-not-connecting-properly (I fear it's a trifle unwell) and being v. busy has kept me offline. All is well in the world of me, and I must thank you for the jobma; it turned out that they COULD offer me classroom work. I'm one of a team of five Permanent Subs, and although that sounds like the kind of person one might find in a bondage club, there's no leather involved at all. Seriously, it's worked out wonderfully well, and my coworkers are lovely. Largely American and Canadian too, which is nice. I've been working with the whole age range of Elementary kids, particularly the wee 'uns (with whom I have no previous experience). Life seems to have treated me with unexpected kindness on the job front - although I guess it could just be that they're hiding their evil rather better than the last guy. Possibly. So far, though, so good. I'm releasing the job-ma into the wild and telling it to go find Trudy.

Silence means security silence means approval

Susan tweaked her neck and shoulder this morning. It's not nearly as bad as the back spasms that left her on her back for days, but she's still doped up on Flexeril and is day-to-day.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Thanks, everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Scott is apparently going to recover. He's still on a respirator but he recognizes everyone and is fairly lucid.

Hopefully, he will be off the respirator by tonight. There may be some memory loss, but other than that, he seems to be ok.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It's a remora, dimwit.

Hey y'all. I'm trying to put together party for Almanzo on the 1st, so if there's anyone in Sydney who wants to come, you're welcome. Just email me for some details.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Are you ready to be strong?

I just had surgery on my hip yesterday and will be pretty much immobile for the next few weeks. So anyone who want to email me, go ahead; I'll welcome it in my boredom. I know this is probably not an ITACMB-level emergency, but I'm feeing sorry for myself and am inclined to exaggerrate.
