I will be going Grey to balck until late Monday/ early Tuesday.
Birth, death, illness, new job, vacation...if it's happening to you and you want us to know about it, post it here. These threads are intended for announcements only. Want to offer sympathy or congratulations, or talk about anything? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
Somehow I failed to tell you yesterday in the excitment-- my A-level results are in: AAB.
Thanks for all the exam-ma and support over the last few years. I'm sure the Buffista attitude to punctuation helped with the A-grade in English.
(Details in my lj, amchau.)
I'm going to be dark over the next few days while we move, then grey-ish until the DSL is set up in the new place.
This is shallow of me, doubtless, but a little generalised -ma would be appreciated right now, if there's any spare, wrt Stupid Travel F*ckUps That May Cost Me Hundred Of Pounds And Are Not My Fault.
Well, we've moved into the new place. For the most part the move went well, but we've had a bunch of first-worldish problems of varying degrees of annoyance: The phone isn't working, the movers couldn't get the box spring up the stairs(so it's in the dining room until we figure out how to compress it), we're missing a bunch of channels on our cable and the dryer got mashed on route to us, so we have to wait for a replacement.
My grandmother is moving from her nursing home to a hospice today. She isn't eating and specified in her will that she doesn't want a feeding tube. Soothing easy passing vibes greatly appreciated.
If there's any jobma to spare, could it please be sent to me on Tuesday? My first interview of the day (out of 8 or 9) starts at 10AM.
all spare health~ma y'all have lying around would be appreciated. my aunt is in the hospital tonight after a house fire. she has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her face, neck, arms and hands. she also has smoke inhalation. they've got her in a medically induced coma while she's intubated to help her breathe.
my sister broke her foot jumping off the deck to run to the neighbors to get a fire extinguisher. so feel better ~ma for her would be appreciated too.
Chicagoistas!
I will be in town from Wed. the 31st through Labor Day attending a mystery convention. Shall we do dinner or something?
Quick request for surgery ~ma for Mom. She's having surgery on her eye, which she wouldn't need if the original surgeons 18 yrs ago had been competent.
She had a detached retina which they "fixed" (very badly, her current surgeon was quite appalled at the work) by using a buckle. Now the buckle is coming a part and they have to remove all the tiny pieces and replace it with a new one. Everything should be fine, but a little extra ~ma is always a good thing.
