So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

So, umm...

Wow, guys. You rock with the baby gifts.

I'm at the moment blown away by Buffista generosity and finally well enough to thank you for the package that came today, signed by many of you for the three of us. It couldn't have come at a better time, as I spent today the most miserably ill I've been in ages (note: I'd rather be in unmedicated transition labor than to feel like I did for most of today--it was that bad), and I really needed cheering.

Lillian and Paul thank you, too.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I'm going black until Wednesday. I'm off visiting my parents and won't have internet access.

Hey. New board.

I just turned in my last assignment for Caltech.

I'm SO done.

I am happy to report that Stephanie gave birth to Elizabeth Lindsey, to be called Ellie, at 5:29 pm today. She weighs 6 lbs. 9 oz., and mother and baby are both very well. They didn't leave for the hospital until 3 pm! Great work, Stephanie, and welcome Ellie!

(edited - twice - because I can't type when I'm excited!)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Welcome Ellie!

A whole heap of Job-ma urgently sought. Tomorrow looks set to be one hell of a day, workwise, and it's entirely possible that I might find myself unemployed at the end of it, either from having been sacked or walked out. Please send your good will my way, lovely people.

Okay I know I've been taking more than my share of ma, and I don't usually ask for current job-related stuff, but I'm first-chairing my first jury trial on Tuesday and I'm both fairly confident and scared as hell. So I'm requesting some non-specific kick-ass-at-trial-ma in my general direction and I'm gonna need it through Thursday. I promise that I'll give it all back.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

So, I got laid off Friday. Would be more upset, but I've already been working on a plan. So little stressed about money, but not worried about where I'm going. General life-ma welcome.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Starting tomorrow, I have ten major (A-level final) exam papers to sit over the rest of June. Any exam-ma you have to spare would be appreciated.

Trust my rage

I am home with my beautiful baby girl. She appears perfect to me in every way. Plus, at the moment, she is sleeping, so that helps.

Anyway, I marked all the posts that I missed and will catch up sometime soon. Thanks for all your well wishes and support.

Ellie is doing great - more awake last night/today and starting to get the hang of the nursing thing. I'm doing well too. I feel a bit worn out (physically) but I've never felt so good in my life on so little sleep. Everyone keeps telling me I'm doing great, so I just believe them. I plan to write up more details later and will probably post in my LJ.

Oh, and Joe is currently on a flight from Germany and should land here this afternoon.

brillig

I've been recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Would anyone know of a source where I could find a CPAP machine fairly cheaply? eBay is hoping for $400+ for the few available, and I'm hoping for a better deal somewhere.
