Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Thanks for all the good wishes and Cat~ma, everyone. Harvey has a UTI, and he's home. He's doing pretty well, and has some meds to take. When he is almost done with the antibiotic, I have to clean out the litter box, put in some "No-Sorb" granuals, wait until he pees, and collect it all to take back for follow-up testing. That should be fun. Now I guess I should ask for future pee-collecting~ma, as I'm almost certain that won't be as easy as it sounds.

So very relieved to have him home, and know he is going to be ok. He has given me so much love over the years, I hate the idea that there are so many things that could go wrong for him that I just could not afford to do anything about.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Well, dark grey turned out to be pretty much black. I'm sure everyone was waiting with bated breath, but I had my conference and I think I may just be back! The conference went better than I could have hoped. I should have some Barrow pictures up by early next week.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Wooo!

I have applied for time off on April 20-21-22, so I can visit Windsparrow April 20-24. She has already secured her time off.

Holy mother of carp! That's two-1/2 weeks.

Anybody who can find the best deal on roundtrip tickets going out in the morning on 4/20 and coming back 4/24 any time, let me know ASAP, preferrably at dcjensen [at] mac [dot] com, but I'll check profile addy, too.

Are you ready to be strong?

I'm changing my home email. So if you have my address and want to email me, change it from @earthlink.net to @mac.com.

Thank you and goodbye!

move out and draw fire

Hi everybody, it's me! The DH is spelling me at home so I could come in to the embassy and use the internet briefly, and I just wanted to say thank you for all the good wishes. Mal is doing fine, and the DH and I are more or less adjusted to sleeping in two-hour increments.

I will continue to be dark until we get the internet at home (which has hit several more complications including the phone company's inability to actually find a phone line going into our house), but we're close now. Maybe a couple weeks. Until then, best~ma to everyone.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

This is Jeff's sister. He is requesting good vibes for healthma. Jeff is currently in the hospital and away from the computer.

If you'd like to send him a message, I'd be glad to deliver. jmconnollyatpbpostdotcom

All is well that ends in pizza.

Major stuff falls into place. Andi (Windsparrow) and I will be meeting in two weeks. Round trip airfare has been booked for April 20-25.

Flight itinerary, just for the heck of it: [link]

Still haven't booked a rental car, but then I haven't done my taxes, either.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

As I'm not sure just how much time I'll have between now and then, I thought I'd post the Princess Ticky Box Delivery Schedule Update...

We're scheduled to go in for our induction on Tuesday, as we're at term and my blood pressure is starting to creep up again. On account of the latter, I'm going to be spending the next few days basically in bed at all times, so how much I'll be around depends on a number of factors, including how bored I am, how much energy I have (I may just sleep as much as possible), and if I can convince my husband to move this particular computer into the bedroom with me.

Here's hoping things go smoothly.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I'm requesting brain-mapping ~ma.

My niece, Elizabeth, is in the hospital after having had surgery to strip the corpus colosum (second hand, so if I'm getting this wrong, medical types, I apologize) in her brain. She's had seizures since she was about 11; the doctors believe due to lack of oxygen at birth. She's now 16 and none of the medications are working any more. If the seizures don't stop, they will eventually kill her.

In order to stop the seizures, they stripped half of the corpus about 6 months ago, but it didn't work. Now that this surgery is completed, it's my understanding that the two halves of her brain are completely disconnected. She's in recovery now, and having to re-map her brain so she can talk, eat, and everything else. She said "no" on Tuesday.

There is a chance that the re-mapping will also re-map the seizures. So, if you all could keep her in your thoughts/prayers that the re-mapping goes well and she easily re-learns the good things and leaves the bad things behind, I would very much appreciate it.
