Have not been around for a while. Minor problem though still hopefully not major was not so minor as I hoped. Am typing this with my left hand, will participate minimally on this board until right hand is in working order again. Uh I guess not-a-big-deal-ma is in order if anyone wants to wish it for me.

Driving by with a leaden heart to make a ~ma request.

A good friend has succumbed to the psychoses that have apparently been torturing him for nearly as long as I've known him.

The good news is, he checked himself into a facility last week. The very, very bad news is that today, he checked himself out.

There is a whole group of people standing by him, with open arms, but I know that we cannot outstrategize the paranoia and fear he is experiencing. I want to DO something, but can only 'be' something. I'm so, so afraid that a good friend is not going to be enough.

Please, if you have any peace of mind (literally) ~ma lying around, send it his way.

MIL is recovering swiftly after her surgery. Any spare -ma you can send would be a bonus. If there are no complications, I should be home and off slow dialup by Saturday night.

Just wanted to let folks know that the BF is now the DF, as in Dear Fiance. We got engaged last week, over Rosh HaShana at my parents house. Did you know you're supposed to say congratulations to the groom and best wishes to the bride? Fascinating...

I just got an update 3 - 1/2 hours ago on the job that I've been jumping through hoops in an effort to be employed:

"...just an update for you - you did very well in the FedEx package questions and have been recommended as one of the candidates to be put forward for the Lakeville, MN area!!! Please don't resign from any position you may have just quite yet though! This is [recruiter]'s recommendation to [potential employer]! We hope that they will set up interviews soon for the position - as soon as I know more I will get back to you."

So, a "hang in there, but don't count your chickens..."

I'm still applying elsewhere in the meantime, but this would be a good gig. Vehicle, cell phone, credit card, travel...
