Talked to Mom and Dad last night. There are no signs of damage, and the MRI showed no tumor, which was apparently something my Dad had been secretly worried about for a while.
He's home now, and sounds really great. He has a diagnosis of TIA, and some things he can concretely do, and he sounds determined to do them.
Feeling very lucky today, and many thanks for the ~ma.
will be completely dark for a week or so, while on vacation.
I'd like to put in a request for some job~ma wednesday (around 9am MTN) and thursday (around 11 am MTN). I've had two responses to resumes after almost three months of none. Either job would be great, tho I'd like the one who's interview is on thursday better since I know the people there, but either way a job is much needed and would be welcomed. Thank you, everybody, very much.
I've been darker than I thought due to the almost total lack of Internet connectivity here in Roswell, NM. Just found an Internet cafe, but I'll continue to be dark for the next few days until I get back to civilization.
I should have stories by then.
I'm off to the wilds of Minnesota for one of my company's sales conferences (and not even the fun part, I get to work on the laptops) so I will be greyish depending on how much work there is and how nice the pool is....
Matt has been waiting for his review for days -- actually months, but let's not go there--The review should be good -- there has been an increase in responsibilities -- an increase in money would be nice, even if it is just a token amount.

Just a quick note to let you all know that at the six month point since the discovery of diabetes, I seem to be doing well.
I just got the results from my latest HA1c. The A1c is a test to see how often you have been too high in your blood glucose in the past three months. Target for diabetics is a number between 5 and 7 percent. Keeping it down helps stave off all sorts of complications.
More info...updated ADA guidelines, June 2004
When I was diagnosed, it was 12.8, three months in, it was 8.4.
I am happy to report that I have acheived a 6.8 for my six-month anniversary. Doctor says I must be doing something right, keep it up, keep working on weight loss. Other factors are within norms, blood gasses, liver test, etc.
Thanks to everyone for your support and encouragement.
Thanks to everyone for the job~ma from last week, unfortunately I did not get either job. I release it back where hopefully it will do someone more good than it did me.
