About a month ago, I made two requests for jobma here and now I'm finally ready to release the -ma back into the wild. I got the job that I was applying for. My last day at current job is Friday. Then it's ten sweet, sweet days of vacation (and also just generally getting up to speed on the new job). I start the new job on March 15th. Thanks for all of the -ma, Buffistas. That is some powerful mojo!

Birth, death, illness, new job, vacation...if it's happening to you and you want us to know about it, post it here. These threads are intended for announcements only. Want to offer sympathy or congratulations, or talk about anything? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
Those of you who have been following the Betsy H-P saga will probably not be suprised, though no doubt chagrined, to hear that her cough continued to worsen and now has the added fillip of pneumonia. She's spending tonight in a fine hospital, in good spirits after access to oxygen and good inhalants, and will no doubt be all better soon. However, speaking for the whole H-P clan, ENOUGH ALREADY!
Health-ma, or general -ma, appreciated.
I am going dark for a few days.
I'm home from the hospital. (Actually, I got home yesterday afternoon, but was exhausted.) Thanks for all the -ma. I am still very tired, but breathing much more freely.
If anyone has a way of getting a hold of Meara in a more immediate fashion than email, could you let her know that I need a phone number for her ASAP? I need it to finish ordering something for her.
Rob, she's listed. Or at least she shows up on Caller ID under her own name, so...
Rob, I've just left a message for meara on her cell phone.
I'll be out of town for a writer's residency and will be dark grey until Friday night. Profile email works if anyone needs to contact me, I'll be checking it twice daily.
Going gray for an indefinite period.
Any enough-hours-in-the-day-ma you can spare would be appreciated.
For those interested in the ongoing saga of our homeless friend John, I have some very good news:
He has a fulltime job with a contractor, which is paying him well, and he's been asked to spend the next three months staying the house his new employer's company is remodeling.
He sends his love, thanks and gratitude for all the help and good wishes. And so do we.
