Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

Right... so an initial infusion of that patented Buffista job-ma is needed over the next few days in the hopes that my boss or I will be able to find some other position for me somewhere else in the company, as it seems that, due to budgetary cutbacks and space considerations at the new facility, my position will no longer need to be filled after the end of October. May need more ~ma later, depending.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Not sure if this is the right place, but what the heck....

I know it's WAY early notice, but I'm the Queen of Overplanning. I'm planning to host Turkey Day here in Minneapolis, at my place. Any/all Buffistae who'd like to come over are more than welcome. I've got a comfy futon and other places to stash people if anyone feels like staying.

Drop me a line at my profile addy if interested....

Thanks!

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

Bit of a mass update here.

1) My computer's dead, hard-drive fried; and my mother's laptop is fritz'd as well. We're left with only the broken-down old iMac upon which I'm typing this now. Computerma, if you would!

2) I'm going to Berlin! I've been invited to a conference for young German and Polish writers, along with two or three other American high-school-age writers. I'll leave in late November. Dude.

3) This was a while ago-- but Reema came here for eleven days in August and got to meet my family, see my house, talk in person, etc. She's gone again but I'm still riding the residual glee. I'm so in love. I am so happy.

Things are good. Except for the hard drive's non-recoverable data. But, but!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Have been greyish for the last week or so, and will be darkest charcoal until Saturday, when I return from a writers' retreat. Email is a go, but that's about all on their available dialup.

I believe vampires are the world's greatest golfers

Housecat Tisha has been missing for a week. There were some sightings of her in the neighbourhood, according to calls my homemade flyers have attracted, but none recently and she has not yet returned.

I am worried - she is getting very old for a cat (11+) and the Blue-Eyed Boy misses her a lot. I do not want to have to explain cat heaven to him at this point.

Please direct some Homeward Bound-ma this way. Thanks.

Not javachik

I'm going black until Oct. 6, leaving Maine tomorrow am and heading for Pittsburgh. Perkins and DX are the most fun ever! And ND, of course.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I found out yesterday that I've been accepted to a month-long course to study abroad in Rome for the month of January. Needless to say, I'm wicked excited.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Hey there. I'm running in my First! Ever! marathon this Sunday, October 5, starting at 8 a.m. and ending (hopefully) by 1 p.m. CDT.

So, may I request strong running vibes for that time period on Sunday? I'll be dark until after the marathon, but Buffista vibes are powerful stuff.

Thanks!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I'll be going semi-dark starting tomorrow--I'm driving east to visit my mom and big brother in southern NJ, with an overnight visit at my uncle's in Ohio. I will be able to get on my mom's computer occasionally, though. (Oh, Brenda M and ChiKat--insent re: LotR marathon!)
