They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Not apocalyptic-- in fact, quite good.

I'm going to be in New York on Sunday, at the Met, for my Ancient Art & Archaeology class. We're leaving hella early, and should be done with the teacher-guided portions by noon or, at the latest, 1:00. If any NYCistas would like to meet me for lunch and looking at statues, my profile addy is good.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Possibly extremely apocalyptic.

I could use some emergency health vibes, as of, say, yesterday. Just heard back that my mammogram results from last week show a suspicious mass in the right breast. They want to schedule me for something called "spot compression mammography", with ultrasound if needed.

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Gray for a few days as I'm on the road for work.

See you Friday. Hopefully I'll be back at the hotel in time for the Angel Premiere, or I'll be back sulking...

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I just spoke with Elena.

Seems the poor mad creature has been deathmatching away without us. She types and nobody answers so she types some more and, eventually, decides upon a winner.

Sad, really...

Actually, she's fine and dandy and won't have power until tomorrow or the day after. They are going to a play tonight (in a part of town with underground power lines) and her DH heated up some water on the barbecue so she could wash her hair. t cue: awwwwww

She sends her wuv.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Right... so an initial infusion of that patented Buffista job-ma is needed over the next few days in the hopes that my boss or I will be able to find some other position for me somewhere else in the company, as it seems that, due to budgetary cutbacks and space considerations at the new facility, my position will no longer need to be filled after the end of October. May need more ~ma later, depending.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Not sure if this is the right place, but what the heck....

I know it's WAY early notice, but I'm the Queen of Overplanning. I'm planning to host Turkey Day here in Minneapolis, at my place. Any/all Buffistae who'd like to come over are more than welcome. I've got a comfy futon and other places to stash people if anyone feels like staying.

Drop me a line at my profile addy if interested....

Thanks!

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

Bit of a mass update here.

1) My computer's dead, hard-drive fried; and my mother's laptop is fritz'd as well. We're left with only the broken-down old iMac upon which I'm typing this now. Computerma, if you would!

2) I'm going to Berlin! I've been invited to a conference for young German and Polish writers, along with two or three other American high-school-age writers. I'll leave in late November. Dude.

3) This was a while ago-- but Reema came here for eleven days in August and got to meet my family, see my house, talk in person, etc. She's gone again but I'm still riding the residual glee. I'm so in love. I am so happy.

Things are good. Except for the hard drive's non-recoverable data. But, but!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Have been greyish for the last week or so, and will be darkest charcoal until Saturday, when I return from a writers' retreat. Email is a go, but that's about all on their available dialup.
