Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Unamerican:

UTTAD: A few years ago Inverness Caledonian Thistle (better known as Calley) were in the third league of Scottish football. They were playing Celtic (the best team in Scotland at the time and top of the first league) in the Scottish Cup. Against all the odds Calley beat them. Next day's headline:

Super Calley Go Ballistic, Celtic Are Atrocious.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

In Bitches --

Ginger: If I were made a vampire, when I rose from the grave I'd be looking for coffee.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Context, what context? In Natter:

Gudanov:

I wonder what happened to all the green women between the age of Kirk and the age of Picard. Was there some great disaster on the planet of green women or something?
sumi:

Nora, we're rare and exotic!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

And Allyson nails it in Natter:

NO ONE UPSMANSHIP ON THE GROSS!

Or ita will show up with the one true link to rule them all.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

shrift: I am not impressed with this whole "being awake" business.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

ita and JZ in Natter. I'm not sure which part is funnier:

ita

Technically it's not work safe, but it actually is. Or vice versa.

JZ

This is possibly the most un-reassuring reassurance I've ever seen.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

In Natter, Sue makes a disturbing discovery --

Sue: Okay, I have just discovered my 79 year old father is on Facebook.

There's just not enough "OMTG!" in the world.

AND! He hasn't even friended me!

meara: I'd be more coherent, but...I'm drunk

meara - Nov 22, 2007 9:25:12 pm PST #9469 of 10000

...I'm kinda shocked that the above is spelled, capitalized, and punctuated correctly, actually. I think I must've been trying hard and typing slow. :)

Ginger is just cookin' with gas this morning

Ginger: Thanks for the bubblewrap. If only I would remember to wear it when I did dangerous things like getting out of the car to go into a Starbucks. I see the world's best chiropracter later today, so that should help. I do have very CSI-like evidence on my leg showing the height of the curb.

Today I discovered the dog will try to chew the end of a USB cable. He thinks that rain is a horrible trick I'm playing on him. He probably hasn't had much of a chance to learn about rain, considering that most of his life has been during the driest year ever. ::Does the dance of rain ::

I have not yet discovered whether he likes carrots.
