You know the real downside of working in science? The fact that people get jaded. The other name is something shrift's parents latched onto for unknown reasons shortly after her birth (I've heard that childbearing is very tiring -- possibly they were just exhausted and confused, and if they'd only waited a few months until they were both rested and refreshed they'd have taken a good long look at their sprog and said, "Why of course she's shrift!")
