This thread is for Buffista quotage. Posts that are profound, witty, or otherwise deserving of immortality go here. This is also Shrift's source for the BRQG, so be aware that if your words end up here, they'll also end up there. Finally, please note which thread spawned the quotage and please white-out anything that might be spoilery to Un-Americans.
Typo Boy's tagline:
It's hard to avoid the suspicion that a significant number of America's worst social problems would be alleviated by summoning the insurance industry's top managers to an economic summit, and then setting packs of wild dogs on them. - electrolite
Nutty, in Natter:
Still not convinced hot wax isn't a form of torture. It is wax! That is hot! On your body! If Madonna is doing it to Willem Dafoe, I don't wanna!
Calli in Bitches:
The thought of post-wax-pulling pain is a bit more problematic. I wonder if there are any places that combine liquor and waxing treatments. Mix a straight scotch with full-leg waxing, get a cosmopolitan and an eyebrow waxing, chug a waterglass of everclear and get a brazilian. It sounds like a very worthwhile idea.

Nicole, in Natter, about Natter:
Do things always move that fast at the end of one thread and the beginning of the new? Cuz, hello?
I think the best way I could describe it is:
9850 - driving through the country and naming each cow you see
9900 - driving in mild traffic on downtown streets
9950 - late for work but still too much traffic for speeding
9960 - oddly enough, back to country cow naming ??
9989 - stunt driving for a commercial where the car speeds down German streets, making fast and hard right/left turns every 4 seconds. This excellerated speed continues into first 30 or so posts of new thread and newer posters will not be able to keep up. Do not try. Injury could occur.
DXMachina: Whatever happened to in like a lion, out like a lamb?
Theodosia: I think the saying this year is "In like a lion, out like a much smaller but more vexed lion."

Dude, it's frelling hot out here in the nether Valley.

Is this part of the waxing conversation, ita?
Hotel slash from F2F:
amych:
The Orchid scanned the crowd of hotels; not a hot prospect in sight -- and yet -- right there, under its very balconies! How had it never noticed the Renaissance before? So strong, so manly, sweaty and hot with the bustle of convention season... but that only highlighted its many charms....
