I knew about 1., but my reaction to 2. was
ugh. I don't trust Fellowes to handle something like that well. And my friend and I actually did a "Oh no they DIDN'T!" double take when her screams blended into the opera solo.
I spend a lot of time yelling at the TV when Downton is on. And yet I can't quit.
I thought
the first two episodes were incredibly slow for something that has only 9 episodes per season, but I think they were just building to ep. 3.
I agree. Mary was
driving me nuts. And Lord Grantham was being right old twat about including her (rather, not) in the plans for the estate. And I continue to completely distrust Edna (though Branson...tsk tsk tsk...former chauffeur or not, power differential there) and Jimmy.
I watched ep 4 and have not watched the show again. I was really really put off.
What, specifically? (Not a challenge -- just a curiosity.)
Aims,
Sorry, ep 3 is the last one I've seen. The end of the ep, I was done. This is Season 4 I am talking about.
I finished it off (Season 4).
Yawn.
Just watched episode 1 of the new Bletchley Circle series. (I think I know why Holli is currently posting about princess coats!) I liked it: Susan is
still traumatized from the previous series, and Lucy and Millie both have more interesting jobs.
I did figure out the plot twist before the characters did, though, which I shouldn't have.
Writing an essay aimed at the UK market that is supposed to be informal and a bit colorful. Are the words "sucker" and "grifter" too American or do they work in a UK context?
