A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Being Human: Even though I guessed most of where the Mitchell storyline was going, I thought Aidan really sold it.

Also? Swinger Rhys!

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I was slightly freaked out to hear Robson Green doing a Welsh accent. And to see him playing a dad (but that one's because I remember him playing a young fireman. When I was about twelve).

Swinger Rhys!

That was my other double-take of the episode. Fun.

Loved the Barry Island jokes. And the "I'm not great with religious rituals" line from Mitchell to the praying George.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sorry, didn't get that far. Considering earlier seasons disappointed me, it's good to know the show's returning to itself.

Compassionately intolerant

Primeval:

I have wildly mixed feelings about this season. I'm glad the show made it back for two more season, but this story arc for this iteration felt choppy and less compelling.

I think a big part of that failing lies in the new characters. I like Matt, but Alexander Siddig's character is completely uninteresting. While I was definitely weary of Helen Carter, she was SO much more interesting than Ethan.

Much as I was glad to see Danny, however briefly, his showing up seemed massively convenient and forced.

Plus, after all the mentions of Sarah at the beginning of the season, how is it that we didn't ever find out what happened to her? This seems both a waste of foreshadowing and of Becker's angst.

I feel a bit used by the Ethan/Patrick and Lady Mary Sue storyline. I wonder if we will see them again.

Still no word on when Season 6 begins? Sigh.

Still loving Ab-ner, Lester and the fan-frickin'-tastic CGI though.

Guardian article on "Mad Dogs", the upcoming Simm/Glenister series for Sky:

Love this bit:

For Glenister and Simm it's different again however. They have been hanging around together after hours, wandering along the seafront at nearby Puerto Pollensa, winding each other up by calling one another "Guv" and "Sam" and clocking the disbelieving glances of British holidaymakers.

Fiona, do you live in Berlin? (If you don't mind saying.) mr. flea is hot for a job there, and if it goes forward I would love to pick your brain about it.

I don't, but I've been there a few times; my last visit was in 2002. I hope I'd be able to give you lots of general pointers as to living in Germany, though. Feel free to drop me a line!
