So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Is now the time to tell the "Penis Van Lesbian" joke? (Upshot: he changed his name and is now successfully Dick Van Dyke.)

I'd never heard that, but man... funny!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

You did Academic Decathlon too, Hil? Sister!

Yep! The team started my junior year, so I did it then and senior year. Never got even to states, though, because there were only, like, three people on our team who actually bothered to study.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Me too. I think there's a bunch of us around here.

Ac Dec was great because the way they divided the divisions by grade point really let us underachievers shine.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I was debate girl. I know it's not the same, but does it count?

Oh, Holli, I meant to say earlier. I didn't get into Haverford either. But I did get into Smith and some other good ones.

I'm still not entirely sure who he actually is. But when I was younger I just assumed he was only a joke.

He's a very famous and funny fellow, tall and slender and gawky, and umm... I had a massive Oost for both him and MTM when I was younger and watched the Dick Van Dyke show. His brother Jerry Van Dyke was on Coach. Dick was most recently seen on Diagnosis: Murder.

Ever seen Mary Poppins? That's the only thing I can think of right now that he was in, other than The Dick Van Dyke Show, but if you'd seen that you'd probably know who he was.

t edit: Oh! And Bye Bye Birdie.
