Happy Birthday, Benno! It's a pretty good day for a birthday, isn't it? I hope your day is wonderful.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Benno!
Thank you! And belated Happy Returns to you, Beverly!
Anyone been watching the new season of Ashes to Ashes? Fay? Fiona? It's taken a leap forward in quality. Not quite Life on Mars level yet, but much more well-written than previous seasons.
I have. I think I'm a couple eps behind, but I'm getting caught up. I agree that this season is going well. Particularly being a LoM fan, I get excited when they talk about Sam (Although why she doesn't call Annie, I do not know)

Good point. I wonder if they're going to deal with that.
I know that it's mostly beside the point, and she isn't "real" to Alex, but I'd like to see them go to that direction. Maybe a bit of stunt casting, if you will. Seems like she'd be relevant if you're trying to make sense of "what's the point of this place?"
eta: I think particularly with the "how to be a female police officer" theme

Yes, that's been interesting. Have you seen Shaz's episode?
I've been watching. I'm pretty sure they're preparing the ground for Sam to show up again. I have asked myself the Annie question too, but Alex probably doesn't know much about Annie. None of the men has mentioned her, and who knows how much Sam referred to her in his notes (they only really got together after he "returned" anyway). So I'm not surprised she's not seeking her out.
This series is solid, but it's never been as good as LoM at its peak, and I'm quite glad it's the last. I just wonder if the "solution" to the "mystery" will be (a) given at all; (b) pulled-out-of-their-asses or (c) actually make some kind of narrative sense .
Hmm to me there is no explanation that will be as satisfying as leaving it a mystery. I kind of hope she does wake up though.
