Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. That frappr map should totally be in the thread header, shouldn't it?

Let me get on that.

Our wings are not tired.

Hi Lola. Really, you are going to have to come up with a better plan for catching up. Flu, never a good plan.

(The frappr map frustrates me because I only seem to be able to see people's info if they are in the US; the Canada and Europe pins I see, but not the profiles. And we seem to be missing a continent or more. And no, I can't do better so I'll shut up now.)

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Laura ... have you tried moving the slider to the very top, and then dragging the map? I just added myself but still couldn't see Oz until I dragged the map to the left and top, and there I was at last.

Madame, what you said to her was "squid", not "good morning".

Hi Lola. Really, you are going to have to come up with a better plan for catching up. Flu, never a good plan.

I know! Considering I'm on Natter cca #34, nothing short of a prolonged sanatorium stay will bring me up to date! (Thinking "consumption"... "Magic mountain"...)

Thees ees a general topic thread, yeeees? Anythink goes? Natter with an unAmerican twist or even not so much?

Well... I have nothing special... today... still blanked out from fever and stuffiness... everything's in a fog... Oh! I woke up thinking about Fay in Romania! Any vampire stories? Are people there SICK of the lore? :)

I just came across this "lesbian vampire movie blog" (the evils of specialisation!), my apologies if it's been linked already:

A little offering to the thread!

Oh there's someone in Greece! Yassou!

I thought Nilly and I are the only non-Anglos.

Duh. And YAY, thanks!

Nah, there's a couple of us - though it depends how you define "Anglo", of course. I'm as Anglo as they come, but I don't live anywhere Anglish.

Raq is in Greece, though I believe she's American.

move out and draw fire

Gia sou backatcha, Lola! I am the person in Greece, but I'm as American as they come, except for the part where I've spent most of my adult life in random non-US countries.

Fiona, I guess genetically/linguistically Anglo. Are you the one in Switzerland? Sorry, I'm still memorising who's where--and catching up in the old threads, incoming info keeps zigzagging. Like watching an ant colony! :)

Raq, that sounds like my vita! How are you liking Greece? It's been a while since I last visited, but we have friends all over.

Incidentally, have you by any chance read "Dinner with Persephone" by, who now, who--oh--Patricia Storace? Essays/impressions from her stay in Athens, very interesting. Anyway--I'm mad curious about comparing experiences and always on the lookout for the newest of the kind, especially from the non-Greek perspective.

(If you wrote someplace about this and could point me to the thread, I'd be delighted!)

If you travelled or lived in Greece before the euro, do you have the impression the life standard has since deteriorated?

I hope you're having a grand time!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Raq's in Greece.

Fiona is in Germany.

Fay is in Bangkok (though previously in Cairo and originally from England).

Nilly is in Israel.

Jars is in Ireland. SA is also visiting there. Also IamNotReallyASpring.

We have several Australians, notably Billytea (who needs to check in with us), and evil jimi and moonlit.

Several of our furriners haven't been by in a while, like Angus (Aus), John H. (Aus) or Jim Eaton-Terry (UK). We miss them!
