What is even happening?

Apparently he's secretly Druze - a religion I'd never even heard of, which is a sort of gnostic/Muslim/Christian secret society thing!!!

I just learned about the Druze in the past year. I didn't realize they passed as Muslim, etc., though. So interesting.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Well, I'm not claiming that other Druze do that. But the guy running our school is, very wisely, not trying to alienate his client base, so letting people assume/implying/outright claiming to be Muslim (I don't know which he's doing) is pretty sensible.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

AAAUUUUUGH!!!

That was a tough way to go down.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

So hey, it's getting closer to my time of departure--does anyone know anything about cell phone systems that work in both Britain and Ireland without gouging you for a price?

As in, one you can buy when you get here?

There's no network that works in both countries, but you can make sure that the phone you buy in one country is unlocked, and then get a new sim card when you get to the second country. They're only about ten quid, if memory serves. I use 02 in Britain and Ireland, but it's a bit cheaper in Ireland than Britain. It's got pretty good service though, and good enough deals on pay-as-you-go.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

SA, I believe Virgin Mobile's pay-as-you-go plan is also available in the UK (home base, after all). Among it's many pluses is that it's not a contract which means you are not obligated to keep using it, good if you mean to only have it for a shortish time.

Cool. I used Orange pay as you go while I was in Wales, and still have the t-mobile phone I had from by time in scotland; I was just hoping there was some plan that would span both countries, but I'm not surprised there's not. Thanks!
