Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Can anyone point me to good websites, fanfic, etc.?

I just replied about fanfic in the fanfic thread. More generally, I'd recommend the BBC's own site, and their related sites at [link] and [link] Some people swear by Outpost Gallifrey, but others swear at it. There are also hundreds of smaller fan-made sites, but I'd be lost to know where to point you without knowing your 'shipping preferences, how much you're interested in previous incarnations, etc.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hey there! Actually, the blog is still there, it's just that now it's under the name not amelia peabody (no spaces). Long story - had a bit of a freak out lest my boss find it under its previous name.

In other news - all your Meara are belong to me!

Bwahahahaha!

(Yesterday we went to Khan a Khaleili and to Karaoke in the Marriot Hotel. Today we went to Dr Rageb's Pharaonic Village and to the Pyramids. Apparently Jars is in Luxor too...Buffista F2F in Egypt! Go Team!)

LOVE the dalek link. And particularly love the fact that the Dalek was lurking in Wookie Hole.

Poor Chewbacca.

Hi Fay. Sorry you were ill, glad it is nothing major. Any news you can share on the situation? I gather from the fact that you are not rolling in spare time that he caved?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

So is Doctor Who discussed here, or in Boxed Set?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's whitefonted in Boxed Set.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

A question for the Euroistas- I'm going to Europe next month, and keep reading things about how handy a ISE card is. Do you think savings (especially if we won't be doing much in the way of hotels or nice restaurants) would be worth the 25 bucks?

Nope. The status of my pay is still unknown.

Fun fun fun.

However, it's parents' meetings on Friday and reports are due in on Sunday. I've written my reports and had them checked (hard copy) for typos etc by senior management, who has pronounced them Very Good Indeed. And Evil Boss has congratulated me on my goodness. But the reports? Are not on his system. No no. They live here on my laptop. Not sure whether he's fully taken that on board yet. I went to see him yesterday to find out where we stand and he wouldn't be pinned down still, but he did his damnedest to get me to agree to come back next year for a substantially higher salary rather than going to the other place. He was very decent about it all, actually - because he was trying hard to get me to come back to work for him. When I explain that no, my decision is final...well, it's going to perhaps get messy. Because I'm not giving in my reports until I've got in writing what his intentions are towards my salary - and if it's a matter of docking me two weeks' pay, fair enough, I'll suck it up. But if he's planning on giving me one month total, instead of the three I'm due? Parents meetings and reports SO not going to happen.

Art Crawl!!!

I saw this on Wizard News:

WESTERN MINI-SERIES WITH SEAN ASTIN TO AIR ON BBC2
BBC Two has secured the rights to the Steven Spielberg mini-series "Into the West" starring Lord of the Rings actor Sean Astin. The six-part series spans 70 years of US history from 1825 and tells the story of the opening of the American West. (UK Edition)

Hopefully Sean Astin really has a big role in this -- I don't know. I had no idea he was in it. (The first hour of the series has Alan Tudyk in it -- in a role that was drastically reduced from what it had started out to be.)
