Don't get me wrong, I did love the
wheelie bin
bit. I just thought the effect when
it grabbed him and was pulling him inside
looked lame. The whole concept was great though and I agree, they do look sinister. :)
I guess it's b/c I'm not a pom but I found the
big ferris wheel as transmitter
concept very cool. It really made the point that this is the 21st Century Dr Who.
The one really disconcerting element I found about the new show involved
conspiracy guy. The fact he had pics of the current Doc from different times seemed to suggest that the past Doctors didn't exist

Uh, dude. He travels in time; that's his schtick. So any Dr can be in any time.
And the
Ferris Wheel double take
was pure Buffy.
On the new Dr. Who - did they keep the music? It's one of my favorite TV show themes of all time.
Frankenbuddha, as I mentioned above, it's the original theme tune, but "modernised".
At least the TARDIS noise is original.

Yes, I am an idiot. Why do you ask?

Well, boo. I think I even read that post before, but had completely let it slip my mind (denial probably).
To be fair, jimi, it took me a while to twig.
Well, I'm hoping they refer to the 'other' Doctors at some point too. But I saw a bit of the Behind the Scenes, and RTD pointed out that audiences need to get to know CE in the role before you can go messing about with their affections. So no - what's it called? - regeneration? of Paul McGann either. Perhaps in flashback some time.
I should think they could do a flashback episode fairly soon, to be frank-- I've warmed to CE very quickly, having thought for many years that I'd always be a Tom Baker girl at heart.
It's going to be weird seeing CE in the role - the most prominent role I remember him from is SHALLOW GRAVE.
I mean, between THE RAINBOW and WITHNAIL & I, McGann was a potentially odd fit too, but with Eric Roberts there who would notice.
