Well, I'm hoping they refer to the 'other' Doctors at some point too. But I saw a bit of the Behind the Scenes, and RTD pointed out that audiences need to get to know CE in the role before you can go messing about with their affections. So no - what's it called? - regeneration? of Paul McGann either. Perhaps in flashback some time.

I should think they could do a flashback episode fairly soon, to be frank-- I've warmed to CE very quickly, having thought for many years that I'd always be a Tom Baker girl at heart.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

It's going to be weird seeing CE in the role - the most prominent role I remember him from is SHALLOW GRAVE.

I mean, between THE RAINBOW and WITHNAIL & I, McGann was a potentially odd fit too, but with Eric Roberts there who would notice.

In some ways I think I'm lucky-- I've heard good things about the shows CE has acted in, without having seen any of them, which makes me receptive to him being good without remembering his face attatched to another name.

This is the first role I've ever seen him in where CE has been anything approaching light, which is a refreshing change. (Jude, anybody? Shallow Grave? Let Him Have It? The grumpy bastard in Elizabeth?) I've always liked him though, so I'm enjoying this a lot.

I'm a Tom Baker-ite too, Am-Chau. I could have been a Jon Pertwee girl, but the show still scared me witless at that stage.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Oh, thank God, it isn't just me! I used to run out of the room when the theme music came on. (I don't remember being bothered by the show, actually, but the theme creeped me out.)

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

People who get Dr. Who and Battlestar Galactica before I do are brutal and mean.

Luckily, Grace Park (Boomer/Valerii) is willing to come into my pathetic dreams to assuage my pain and diminish my bitterness.

Is Britain still getting the first run of BSG?

I read somewhere (Variety?) that since it was such a hit on the SF channel in the States, it would get first-run here.

'Cuz of the dollars being larger.
