Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

DVDBoxoffice.com has a listing for Firefly ... complete with a cover pic.

I've never used DVDBO but my mate has and reckons they're great. The price includes postage. The price works out to 48USD or 70AuD.

Thanks for all the fish.

That's the most detail I've seen! Fantastic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why is he alone on the cover????

HEADS UP arse -- if you're a Seven executive

Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth are finally getting Miracles. It starts on Monday at 10:30PM.

ETA - I've been meaning to mention this for a couple of weeks: In their infinite wisdom, Channel 9 have elected to screen Witchblade at 1:30AM (2AM in Perth) on Wednesday nights. I finally caught an episode last night and it wasn't too bad -- it certainly didn't deserve such a late timeslot. Of course, this is from the station that puts DS9 on after midnight and moved Enterprise to 11:30PM and put the exceptionally unfunny, Merrick & Rosso, in its place.

Not that I give a rat's arse about Enterprise but there is a principle involved here; how shamefully are they going to treat Firefly?

(prediction: so shamefully that I probably won't bother watching it, especially if it gets screened within a week prior to the DVD release, which I'll be ordering)

Probably as shamefully as Channel 7 has treated Futurama. May they rot in hell. And by hell I mean a giant, boiling vat of Slurm.

I wouldn't go that far. I think it's mediocre. Of course, although I don't like them so much now, I tend to be kind of forgiving of them because I used to adore them back when they did afternoons on Triple J. They gave me a couple of hours of much needed levity on weekdays during the HSC and I used to listen to them on the bus on the way home from uni in first year. Good times.

I stopped being a fan through a combination of a) them moving to mornings, which would actually require me to get up before 10am in order to listen b) them moving to Nova, which, despite disliking myself for being a snob, I couldn't help seeing as selling out and c) their style humour does get very repetitious after a couple of years (or for many, minutes) of solid listening.

And there you have a fascinating little foray into What Emlah Thinks of Merrick & Rosso.

On another note, did anyone watch the Emmys the other night? They were pretty boring. But they showed a clip of John Ritter's appearance as Ted on Buffy during his memorial montage/tribute, and I squealed like the little piggy fangirl that I am. Wow, won't be using that metaphor again.

I know Merrick & Russo by their names, but I think they were on triple J before I was welcomed to the beautiful 80's-rock-free fold after an unfortunate summer of AC/DC speckled listening. I'm overly fond of Adam & Will, though. I don't know what I'd do without them some mornings (no, wait, I *do* know--it's called sleeping in and missing all my lectures).

Heh. Me too. Well, there wasn't squealing per se. There was internal squealing. On another Emmy's note, I can't believe Six Feet Under got so many nominations and then didn't win a single thing. I'm not a big SFU fan, but...jeeze, all the awards went to the really, really safe choices this year. Though I'm glad Debra Messing won, since her dress was the only one that didn't make my eyeballs itch and that sort of thing should really be rewarded.
