If I only had a brain...

Elvis Mitchell namechecks Buffy constantly, and he gets the show.

Always Anti-fascist!

I'm with Angus and Fiona. Her columns inspired me to watch Buffy initially.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Who was the guy in the US mag "TV Guide", who does the weekly column? He was a stone mad Buffy-fan.

Nic and I have watched Buffy since the first ep, so I found Millman and the press take on the show well after the fact; we'd loved the movie and as soon as we saw it was Joss Whedon, we hunkered down from the premiere on.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Matt Roush, I think.

Yes! The Roush Report. He relentlessly plugged Buffy. Warmed my heart.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Matt Roush also relentlessly plugged Farscape, not that it did the show much good. But he's just about the only major-outlet critic who seemed to know the show existed, much less appreciated it.

I have fond memories of a Joyce Millman column about Homicide, called "God's Favorite Cop". She may not see exactly what you or I may see in a show, but she really does have a fannish sensibility about television, and for that I must appreciate her.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Just noticed the OMWF DVD was released in the UK last Monday.

Which seems kinda sleazy, considering the Season 6 Box set is released on May 14th.

In a bizarre attempt at cross-promotion, Blackstar claims the OMWF has an interview with Jessica Alba.

Is Roush the big AtS fan?

Actually, whoever the TV columnists at Entertainment Weekly were also loved Buffy; many, many cover stories on Buffy graced that magazine over the years.

I. Want. My. H:LOTS. DVDs.

You fiendish UnAmericans! (runs off to Amazon.co.uk)

Is it still conventional that all DVD players bought in the UK, Australia, and Europe have been hacked to kill region codes? Or did I hallucinate that?
