That story has reminded me of this thing I heard in the UK years ago.
Guy has cancer.
Guy goes to special cancer hospital and gets cured.
Guy is very grateful.
Guy decides to raise money for special cancer hospital -- with Sponsored Parachute Jump.
Guy is seriously injured in Sponsored Parachute Jump and spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
Even Tim bloody Minear wouldn't come up with something like that.
According to a translator site, in German, crocodile is Krokodil.

Further geek stuff: the word itself derives from the Greek for 'pebble worm'.
Frankly, if you are in a foreign country that *has* large meat-eating aquatic reptiles? Check around before going for a dip.
IJS.
In completely unrelated UnAmerican news, an Israeli football soccer team just beat Manchester United yesterday, 3:0 (!) The victory is doubly sweet because it's the second time that team gets to play against MU, and they've lost on the former round. It's not even lessened by the fact that the Israeli team didn't accumulate enough points to go on the next round of the games.
I didn't get to watch any of the game, but I knew the score thanks to the responses of the watching neighbors all around. I just remembered that when I had mentioned here the former game some people had said things like 'go any team that plays MU', so I thought I'd share that.
Well done Maccabi Haifa! (Yes, I did have to look that up.)
Good on them!
...And in similar news, Bayern München have crashed out in the first round of the Champions League.
Hee heee hee heee hee.
And the UnAmerican thread turns again to the soccer thread...
Fiona, belated happy birthday!
