Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

In completely unrelated UnAmerican news, an Israeli football soccer team just beat Manchester United yesterday, 3:0 (!) The victory is doubly sweet because it's the second time that team gets to play against MU, and they've lost on the former round. It's not even lessened by the fact that the Israeli team didn't accumulate enough points to go on the next round of the games.

I didn't get to watch any of the game, but I knew the score thanks to the responses of the watching neighbors all around. I just remembered that when I had mentioned here the former game some people had said things like 'go any team that plays MU', so I thought I'd share that.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

I didn't know about the Bali angle but I must admit, I laughed when I read about the German tourist being eaten by a croc. If it's any consolation to her family, the croc would've got really bad heartburn. I've heard they get that after eating morons.

Yeah, I know, I'm a sick fuck but what else can you do but laugh? The billabong had plenty of signs warning against swimming and the signs all contained the No Swimming pictogram, so even a non-English reader would've known what it meant.

Maybe it was one of those, "I've cheated death once, nothing can hurt me" kind of things. But I've no idea. And funnily enough, I haven't heard the death reported at all here in Germany (which isn't saying too much, as I don't read a German paper, but still).

I think the newsworthiness of the poor woman's demise was increased by the fact that they actually had pictures of her from the previous couple of days -- "Pretty Blonde Tourist In Tears At Darwin Airport After Escaping From Bali".
