Wow. I've been wanting to but haven't had a chance to catch The Office on BBCAmerica. I'll try harder.
All Ogle, No Cash -- It's Not Just Annoying, It's Un-American
Discussion of episodes currently airing in Un-American locations (anything that's aired in Australia is fair game), as well as anything else the Un-Americans feel like talking about or we feel like asking them. Please use the show discussion threads for any current-season discussion.

A lot of it is very UK-specific - what anyone outside Britain will make of a line like "Look at him! He looks like a Fisher-Price man!" is anyones guess. But it's worth seeing.
Isn't Fisher Price an international brand? Or is the reference not to the toy company?
Anyway, I've just seen the first episode of Season 7 and am still gasping. HOLY SHIT!!! So glad I wasn't spoiled for that ending.
Fisher-Price is a well-known brand of kids and toddler toys here -- actually I'm surprised that you know it, because I'd thought they were American-only.

An idea of Fisher Price's international operations can be found here. Mostly Europe and North America, Australia too.

AMEN to that! After all those hoots and woohooes, my neighbours must now be convinced I'm a psychotic.
Of course, my absolute delight at what must rank as the best opening ep ever, is tempered by the sheer frustration at what we missed!!!!! I swear to fucking Gob that Channel 7 Australia is the big fucking bad of this season. 39 fucking minutes (including at least a combined total of 20 seconds of commercials before hitting the pause button)!!! What the fuck is all that about Channel 7?!?!
The Office is simply the best comeedy (tragedy?) on TV. If you get a chance watch it. It's utterly brilliant. And David Brandt is the best comic creation since Basil Fawlty. In fact he's probably better.
Just make sure you have a cushion to hide behind.
The Office is also out on DVD (or will be shortly in Australia).
I'm just reading through the first Buffy thread. If anyone wants to catch up on what the Yanks said, the discussion starts here: brenda m "Buffy 1: No, You're Not the Only Watcher [closed]" Sep 24, 2002 8:02:35 pm EDT
MissCreant said waaaay back then:
3. While I'm not sure I like the actor portraying him, it's nice that Sunnydale High, a school in Cali-freakin'-fornia, finally has at least one Latino student.
Actually, this might be the first Latino student who had proper lines but there was a Latino "student" extra who made numerous appearances and who I've become somewhat ... umm ... obsessed with but y'know, in a good way ... a drinking-game kinda way. I've dubbed him the Did-you-see-what-he-wrote-bloke because that's what you overhear him say to another student during the ep, "I Only Have Eyes For You". It's during the scene where "Mr Miller" writes, Don't walk away from me, bitch, on the blackboard. Ever since then I've looked out for him and he appeared in the background of quite a few eps, both at Highschool and then at Uni.
